I just purchased one. I'm hearing good things about it as far as leftovers go, but I'm wondering how good is it for cooking fresh stuff.

I’ve been using mine for wings.  Takes about 50 minutes from solid frozen to very crispy.  Best homemade wings I’ve made to date.

I've never heard it's just for leftovers. You can cook a lot of things from fresh.

Our favorite is marinated wings. All kinds of potatoes (frozen fries or tots, hash browns, fresh cut potatoes diced or homemade fries). Veggies. Some people do other meat as well.

Hash brown patties are great in the air fryer.  Best way to cook at home.

Honestly, the most ridiculous part of air fryers is how long it takes to make wing.

Sweet potatoe fries are quick and easy in it as well.

Takes me about 18 minutes. I defrost and marinate. Not from frozen.

It takes about 12 minutes from frozen in a deep fryer, maybe less, and 5 thawed. Air fryers are great cause there's no oil to deal with disposing of, or cleaning off things after it splatters, but you can't beat the real thing

Sure, but it's not common to have an oil fryer at home, messy, smells up the house, cleanup, and fattier. Part of the air fryer is supposedly healthier.

Plus you can do veggies and things you wouldn't deep fry in oil, but you get the crisp.

I cook them both ways and not a noticeable difference in taste from the oil and air fryer. I have the Phillips Brand Air Fryer and cook them for 20 minutes and they get really crispy

I'm not saying air fryers aren't good. I have one on my Blackstone grill and it's great to finish off smoked wings, or make some frozen side while I'm waiting on something to be smoked. I just think they're over hyped for what they are. If I'm making more than 10 wings, or if I'm making fresh cut fries I'm gunna use a deep fryer. I can make more in less time, and my fries will be better.

Air fryer and @BFit is the last combo on earth I'd expect to see.

It came attached to the thing I make smash burgers and bacon on

Bacon is actually really good in the air fryer. Gets nice and crispy without making the entire house smell like bacon for the next 2 days. But you have to have the right kind of fryer that has a flat basket rather than a deep one.

i believe we'd have an opportunity for a most excellent thread here.

Bfit and _________ is the last combination on earth I'd expect to see

Fries, Onion Rings, all come out great.   Frozen breaded CHicken breasts (like Aldi Red Bag Chicken) - 12 minutes, 6 a side. Spectacular!

Air frying jello shots did not work out well.

I'm liking it so far. I did homemade chicken fingers and fries the first night and did breaded pork chops last night.

It's worth it. Keep in mind though, that only one drawer is an air fryer. The other is a warming tray. I didn't realize that when I got it.

I tried a steak in ours one night. It turned out surprisingly not terrible.
