I have very little to no faith in our current DC anyway. So probably wouldn't matter anyway.

I agree about Thibodaux. He might be out of reach. Hopefully the season plays out our way with Mia. Not holding my breath though.

If we wind up with something like pick 3, pick 7-8, and pick 13-15 a draft like:

R1P3 Kyle Hamilton S Notre Dame

R1P7 Derek Stingley CB LSU

R1P13 George Karlaftis EDGE Purdue

is very realistic.  Hamilton is an instant difference maker patrolling center field.  I don't care what position he is, he's a potential generational talent.  I personally can't wait until pick orders are finalized, etc. and can start working on my mocks which will be 80% wrong.  Lol

Having a Kings Ransom worth of picks, and our biggest need being a QB and there not being a top 5 guy this year, is too much for me.

Ideally they use two picks on D, and trade down the other 1st rounder picking up an additional first for next year when there's a better QB talent pool.  The ONLY QBs I would consider this year (and definitely not R1) would be Pickett, Strong or Ridder.  R2 at best for any of them.

My thoughts exactly

This is actually what I’d like to see happen. We could hedge this and have multiple first round picks forever. Abuse the fact that future picks are valued lower

Yes

Neal, Leal, Elam, but I think we would do well taking Brennan Armstrong at QB. I just don't think he will last until round 2

Just pulled this off on TDN.  It aroused me.

Love Booth ... favorite corner after Stingley (very close 2nd).  I'd love to add him.

Those 5 picks instantly transforms our defense, and it's very achievable.

Lol, check this one out with some wheeling and dealing:

SEVEN top 100 picks.  Transformative defensive picks, a nice QB/RB combo, a big bodied receiver so we can kiss JJAW goodbye, some solid oline prospects and an extra second for next year.  If Howie could pull this off, I'd be shocked.

I think Thibodeaux unfortunately isn't realistic if we don't have #1.  But if we could do Hamilton, Stingley/Booth/Elam and Hutchinson that's a huge win.  I understand Hamilton isn't realistic either due to position, but I think he's a generational talent at the S spot.

Does Stingley ever play? That worries me when we’re talking Top 10.

Foot injury early this year but he's the best CB in the past few drafts.

I realize it's de rigueur to whine about Roseman's draft acumen, but I am not seeing a lot of failure here with high 1st round picks.

The problem has been with late 1st round picks (picks 21 and later):

The first round picks that you don't have an issue with has to be compared to who was available and you have to look at his 2nd round picks and look at who was available there also.

When you do that analysis you'll find that dude has not been good at drafting.

I want 3 of the following:

Thibodeaux DE

Hamilton S

Stingley CB

Hutchinson DE

Elam CB

Karlaftis DE

Leal DT

Dean LB

Jackson DE

Green OG

Neal OT

Booth CB

Hutchinson - at worst 2nd best pass rusher, closer to Thibodeaux than he gets credit for.

Dean - best LB’er in the draft, he’d go top 8 if he was 6’2”, this dude is everywhere and can cover.

Booth - 2nd to 3rd best corner and at worst is a FS, starter in the NFL. By far he’s the most physical CB in the first round.

All along I've been operating under the assumption that the three Eagles first round picks -- assuming the Colts one comes through -- will end up being something like 7th, 14th, and 21st. If you add up the three numbers (7+14+21) you get 42. So my feeling is that if we end up with anything better than 40, that would be okay. If it's less than 30 (which is where it has been all season thus far), that would be great. Less than 20 would be unbelievable, as well as unrealistic.

The problem is, I don't think the Dolphins will be as bad as they've been. I can see them getting six or seven wins and giving us a pick somewhere around 9 to 13. Something like that. And I'm also kind of fearful that the Colts not only make the playoffs, but advance a round or two, putting us somewhere in the mid 20s.

The Dolphins-Texans game is really the most important game this week as far as we're concerned. Perhaps even more than our own game.

The Dolphins would have to win 5 out of 9 to get to 6 wins, they have Hou, Balt, NYJ, Carolina, NYG, NYJ, NO, TN, and NE.
TN may be benching starters by then, and the Jets stink but even if they split with them, going 5-4 won’t be easy.
Worst case scenario is Houston somehow torches them this weekend and the Dolphins fire Flores. Then the players actually care with an interim coach and they do win some games.   I expect Doug will be their coach next year, there or Jacksonville, but I lean towards Miami.

You can get rid of a few things here.

-Eagles wont be picking at 14, it will be inside the top 10.

-Dolphins will have less than 5 wins at best.

How Colts would go is unpredictable..

If there is one thing everyone should have learned from watching football for a bunch of years is that it is completely unpredictable.

The Eagles are likely to pick in the top 10 but they have a fairly easy schedule (relatively speaking) and could end up with 7-8 wins making our own pick somewhere in the 13-15 range.

Miami could tank and give us a top 3 pick but they too could go on a roll and win more than most predict.

It is certainly going to be fun to track this as the season progresses.

Indeed, same here!

Eagles gonna use like two of these picks to go get a 32year old Russell Wilson. When Mort and  Schefter are throwing it out there so nonchalantly it does make me think the could be some smoke with that fire.

That certainly seems like a typical Howie move.  I'll be pissed if we give up two 1s to Seattle for him.  I might be OK with giving up one 1 (but it had better be the latter of the 3) and possibly a later pick like a 5th or a 2023 3rd/4th (or throw in Hurts or another player).  But highly doubt Seattle would accept that.  I really hope Seattle just doesn't have interest in dealing him.
