Now the Eagles basically control their own destiny. The only team in front of them right now that really matters is WFT and they play them. I cant see the team that gave the Lions their first win, winning out when their schedule includes Steelers, Bears, Rams, Packers, Bears. Other than the two against the Bears, I'd have the rest as a toss-up or worse for the Vikes to get a win. I'll say it again, our weak ass schedule is really on our side for making the playoffs. The only thing that stops us is more Giants game like clunkers

Bears could beat the Vikings just much as the WFT could beat the eagles.

Probabilities are generally against that if both teams play up to their talent.

I agree, I would just never count division opponents as their easy games. So to me the eagles remaining schedule is not easy at all. Especially when it come to eagles vs WFT. Didn't we need the Vikings to lose to get into.the post season to play the bears for the double doink game?
December 10, 20214 yr The Giants getting two picks in the top ten while the Eagles get none is my latest example that everything sucks.
December 10, 20214 yr Until I see a sports news headline that reads "Howie Roseman removed from all personnel decisions and duties", or "Howie Roseman was fired today", I can't get all excited about draft picks. Until he is removed for draft decisions, things remain the same. Keep him away from this draft and future drafts.
December 10, 20214 yr Author Minnesota win last night bumps up those first 2 picks (from 12 and 13 to 11 and 12). It also moves Minnesota up to to the 8th slot in the NFC as it relates to playoff positioning (record 6-7, same as us ... not sure if the record in common games tie breaker applies ... minimal 4 game requirement, both teams have played Dallas, SF, Carolina, and Detroit with same record, although Minny has played Detroit twice ... one W and one L, so not sure how that is taken into consideration). Next tie-breaker is SOS and Minny would be ahead of us based on this criterion.

December 13, 20214 yr Author The Saints win moves them down the current draft order and in the process bumps up our first 2 picks (from 11 and 12) to 10 and 11. And even though Indy was on bye, Cincinnati's loss yesterday resulted in those 2 teams swapping playoff seeding positions with Indy now in as the 6th seed and the pick dropping all the way down to 21. The outcome of tonight's game will have no impact on current draft order so will update first post.

December 13, 20214 yr Indy plays home against New England, and at Arizona the next two Saturday nights so they could quite easily be back out of a playoff spot with two weeks to go.
December 13, 20214 yr You know what would be a mind blowing draft? Just keeping it simple and taking great players that can help your team, instead of keep on kicking the can down the road to the next draft. It's rare to have these multiple #1's, so live in the moment and go get #1 talent on your team. Keep it simple, yet powerful.

For me it really all depends on where that last 1st rd pick is slotted (and obviously who is there to take). The difference in Howie's track record, when comparing players taken before pick 20 to those taken 20 or later, is striking. Those are all of his 1st rd picks since he was promoted to GM in 2010. Obviously you are bound to hit more frequently with higher picks, but he has ZERO players that have worked out that were drafted 20 or later in round 1.

The Colts are just playing too well right now for them to not make the playoffs. But at least the pick is now guaranteed to be in the first round. I wouldn't be surprised if they win a playoff game or two, pushing the pick to around 25th overall. Trading Wentz was asinine, but a late first round pick is better than a seventh, which is what I remember some fans arguing would be all he would be worth. We just need for the Dolphins to start playing like crap again.
December 19, 20214 yr Author While a bummer Indy beat NE (under any other circumstances I would never say that), the fact that Carson played all 52 snaps last night ensures we get Indy's 1st rd pick in April. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/12/19/carson-wentz-playing-time-assures-eagles-of-receiving-colts-first-round-pick/
December 19, 20214 yr ok I've been thinking a lot about who we should take with those 3 picks. I'm against taking another WR, not only do I think Reagor and Watkins may blossom but the college wideouts are so vast they can get one in a later round. Up til this point I was thinking 3 defensive players, at least one cornerback. Now I'm thinking grab one O-lineman too because the O-line basically brings the team whatever success it has. positions of need D-lineman linebacker corner O-line

December 20, 20214 yr Author The outcome of this week's games played thus far has moved Miami's pick down to 14 and Indy's pick to 23. Both of today's games can impact positioning: Raiders vs Browns (a Raiders win would push them down past Miami and in turn push Miami's pick up to 13; a Browns win I believe would push them down past Indy and in turn push Indy's pick up to 22 but am not 100% positive) Vikings vs Bears (a Vikings win would push them past Miami and in turn push Miami's pick up one ... to either 12 or 13, depending on what happens in Raiders-Browns game) Positioning as of now: 10 - our own 14 - from Miami 23 - from Indy Will update first post at conclusion of tomorrow's games.
