That is more like Philly than this pass, pass, pass, and punt crap anyway. I miss it too, I'm not holding out hope it lasts though

Even with a pass first QB they still need to maintain some semblance of balance on offense and keep defenses guessing. Making yourself one dimensional makes it so much easier to defend.

I feel like the owner of the Eagles is one of them.

Once they face some tougher run defenses that take away the run between the tackles Howard will again be benched. Teams weren't dying to get Howard because he's been 2 yards a a cloud of dust for quite some time. With that said, he's been running hard these past few games. As far as taking away the between the tackles runs, that's why you should always have different running styles on your team, Sanders will give them some outside running if he ever returns, what did he do, have gallbladder surgery or something?
November 16, 20214 yr He’s been really good. Makes teams respect the run inside and opens up play action for Hurts too. We need to keep pounding the rock.

No. He's been seated 2 yards behind the sideline. Miami pegged him as their short yardage specialist and his YPC was awful. Despite only playing in 5 games for them, he led their team in rushing TDs in 2020 with 4. He's still the same Jordan Howard he's always been. He's just being used and used properly now.

Actually he was having a very good season in 2019 before the injury - 6 TDs, more than 500 yards. They called it a "stinger" but it's actually nerve damage to the shoulder that took over a year to heal. As a result, he's low mileage for a veteran RB and is back in form pounding it inside. The question is what happens next now that Sanders is designated to return?

If we're way behind or in a passing situation, then Gainwell would get snaps. Scott is probably the odd man out, but I'm hoping they keep him active. He can do a little of everything and has been pretty dependable.

The only catch is, then they need to clear a roster spot - I sure hope that doesn't involve moving Howard back down. My guess is it may come at the expense of one of the DBs as we have a boatload on the 53 (12 in total!). Perhaps someone like Chachere is released to make room.

I'm not sure they want to hurt the special teams. One big disappointment this year so far in terms of impact has been Ryan Kerrigan. Releasing him would open up more playing time for Tarron Jackson who has seemingly had more impact plays. Another player we don't really need on the 53 is Reid Sinnett.

I completely agree about Kerrigan being pretty much invisible and thought about him but that would leave us awfully thin at DE (with only Barnett, Sweat, and Jackson). I know they could play Williams out there some and I have mentioned before that they should start giving Jackson some reps but I still doubt they'll part with Kerrigan. Sinnett is a likely candidate to be cut too.

I thought he was doing pretty well here first time round until the stinger that turned out to be a more serious neck injury. He went to Miami for the $-but he hadn't fully recovered and gained weight there. A renewed focus on his career and getting in better shape has made the difference. He is a power back, not a home run hitter. Far more consistent and reliable around both goals and short yardage situations. Vitally important-and he's better than most think. In '17 the Eagles won because they dominated the sticks early downs. Everything is easier when you're in 2nd and 2-so you have options. When you have a back (Wentz/Jordan) who picks that up regularly.......you keep a less talented defense(and the opponent's offense) on the sidelines. Win-Win. The key is making less possessions count.

I've been saying for years, get a power back that's also a good runner, aka has vision, let's hope he keeps running like he has been as of late.

The point I’m trying to make is that Hurts isn’t a pass first/pass only type of quarterback. If they wanted that guy then they should have drafted that type of a quarterback and not Hurts.
