I like Fetterman, but Lamb has a better chance.

Starting to see ads for Conner Lamb on the dem side. His campaign is about being the guy that can beat Trump's handpicked candidates.

I'd rather vote for the guy who looks like he could fight Chewbacca to a draw:

Coffee and Conversation with John Fetterman, Chris Dodd and Susan Bysiewicz - Connecticut Democratic Party

I think he actually has appeal to rural voters, and would be able to peel a point or two off the Republican candidate (especially if it somehow is Oz). And he sure as hell can't be painted as establishment, and being anti-establishment is still very attractive - Democrats can run on that too.

Comparing how they would do head-to-head against the Republican candidate in November, I think Fetterman beats Lamb by a smidge in "progressive" enclaves, would do at least a couple points better in the big red areas of the country state, but might do worse in suburban areas among traditional blue voters. But I think in suburban areas you might see a similar, though muted, effect you'd see in red areas.

Remember: Trump didn't lose PA in Philly or Pittsburgh. Biden actually did WORSE in those counties in 2020 than Hillary did in 2016. Biden won PA by doing 2-3 pts better consistently in the 55 or so red/rural counties than Hillary did. Biden of course didn't win those counties, but he closed the gap enough that the point or two he lost in Philly/Pittsburgh still resulted in a net gain of what, 100k votes?

Definitely the front runner.  I'd have no issue.  He is a proponent of single payer system.  May bite him a little.

he bites back though.

Fetterman would just give Oz eyebrow raises and scowls any time Oz is speaking, and win on sheer exasperation over an "elitist establishment Republican" who might make a good midnight snack for Fetterman.

The best part is that Oz couldn't raise an eyebrow back since they're both permanently stuck in the raised position.

well, policy wise (if that even matters) he's pretty "progressive" in a lot of areas. but most of those areas are the areas where progressive policies actually are popular, and he seems to have stayed away from the "woke" stuff for the most part. for example he's for single payer and weed legalization, but also isn't against fracking and supports the right to bear arms.

Support for a single payor system is a complete non-starter for me. But I don't live in PA.

But it really doesn't get more progressive than that.

Agreed. Was just saying he's not exactly a centrist candidate. He's not as crazy on some things as some progressives, but still has legit progressive policy beliefs.

Which is why I think he'd do slightly better than Conor Lamb in the city, but also think he'd do better than Lamb in rural areas. He defies a lot of the criticisms that work against liberals among "salt of the earth" types, and honestly for a lot of rural poor single payer may be less of a non-starter than you'd think.

It's the suburbs where I think Fetterman would be outperformed by Lamb. But overall I think Fetterman would do better against "generic Republican" than Lamb in PA.

I can't help but feel any snake oil salesman who takes advantage of people, should not hold public office.

Ever.

Dr. Oz denies writing gun control advocacy columns, business partner claims authorship

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/dr-oz-denies-gun-control-advocacy

Quote

Dr. Oz disavowed a series of columns bearing his byline arguing for gun control

How not surprising. "Sure, my name is on it, but it wasn't me."

FYI: CONOR LAMB, Democrat Dreamboat

1. On April 13, 2018, Lamb voted for the Volcker Rule Regulation Harmonization Act, which would exempt banks with less than $10 billion in assets from the Volcker Rule, which prohibits banks from making risky investments with customers' money.[47] Lamb's father has served as a lobbyist for PNC Financial Services since 1995..[6]

2. In December 2020, Lamb broke with most of his party and voted against the MORE Act which would have removed cannabis from schedule I of the controlled substance act.[49]]

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Of course Dr. Oz is hysterical about this affront to the nation, him being asked to resign by the end of the day or he would be terminated from the Sports and Fitness council.

The only issue, sir, is that YOU ARE NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED TO CONTINUE.
