I think maybe he's the at 15 if he falls and the D targets are gone guy and he lasts.  If he gets taken early then it pushes a D player down

I believe Howie will make a move up for a defensive player (edge rusher or CB) … nothing crazy like blowing both 1s.  Most likely using pick 83 to move up to 10-11.  Anything is possible but just have my doubts he’d move up for Williams.  But agree with you in that if other preferred targets are taken out of striking range (or they just fail to be able to strike a deal) then they could take him if he is there at 15 or 18.

I still don't want a WR in the 1st. We have a WR1 and I believe Watkins is a WR2. I think, based on how many people are mocking us to pick a WR and the reports about us being "high" on Williams that the Eagles' smokescreen is working. We need DL and DB. If we actually do take a WR in the 1st, the Eagles better be darn sure Ojabo is falling to us in the 2nd. If we don't take a WR with our first 3 picks, and the possibility of getting Watson is there by trading up late in the 2nd or early in the 3rd, I might be intrigued by taking a chance on his size and speed. We missed out on Metcalf because of his injury red flags. Watson has that same kind of speed. Metcalf is a freak of nature with his speed and strength, but it's really his speed that makes him so special.

The Eagles have a couple players (Dillard, Reagor) that may be moved during the draft which might help us move up on day 2.

Last year the Eagles really wanted to get 1 of the top two CBs, but they both went pretty high. If we move up this year, it will be for a CB, I believe.

I think the most likely outcome is a small trade up for Jordan Davis

Thank goodness the speculation can finally end in about 24 hrs.  This is such a crazy year to try to get a good feel for.

Odd phenomenon is also people focused on pick 15 so much and pick 18 not that much at all

That's because there's most likely going to be nobody exciting at 18. That's going to be the trade down pick if anyone is looking to move up.

Why would you blab like that? A sure fire way to make sure you don't get drafted by the eagles.

I’m sure the Eagles told most prospects we met that they’d like to draft them.  Doesn’t mean we plan to.  Sounds more like a generic statement.  He could be plan F and still end up here if plans A - E fail.

Yeah exactly. If they are speaking to the player then there's a good chance they like the player. I'm sure they like a lot of prospects in this draft.

I think it’s real. There were very similar vibes around Smith last year. If Williams is available is a different conversation but I believe Williams is exactly the receiver Siriani would fall in love with.

While I am sure he would not mind getting drafted by the eagles you have to remember he is playing the pre draft game too. This is a way to try and increase your draft position for more money.

I agree with this, corner is a much bigger need. I can see us picking a WR if Williams falls, but I dont think Howie is foolish enough to trade up for a WR.

But.... Howie....

Everyone thinks Howie will suddenly do the right things and listen to his scouts. Howie tries to make the draft about HIMSELF, how clever he is, how much a gunslinger he is, how he out deals everyone one else, etc etc etc. It's all about HOWIE. I would love to see him drop his huge ego and make the right calls, but I'm not holding my breathe. He usually kills the excitement of the draft for me. The only reason I'll watch is....well, it's like looking at a bad car accident- you know you shouldn't look, but there is a part of you that....

Having said that, kudo's to a lot of you on this board. You are a hell of a lot smarter than Howie. 🤣

We have to hope he gets by Atlanta at 7. Otherwise we won't have a shot.
