Just watched Nosferatu and really liked it. If you didn’t know Bill Skarsgard was Count Orlok you would never know it was him. The transformation and his voice was very cool. The make up and cinematography for this film was top notch. My only negative was that Count Orlok needed more screen time. Cast was well done and the main kid from "Kick Ass” is another underrated actor and did not know he was in this movie. Johnny Depp’s twin was decent as the lead actress

The Depp-girl did some tremendous physical acting unless they CGI’d the ‘uk out of a lot of her scenes.

I read that it wasn’t CGI and it was all her

Also @Know Life - Midsommar. Same director as Hereditary and one of my faves of all time.  That movie haunts me to my core.  There is gore in it, but the movie sure as hell doesn’t rely on it.

Side note: My MIL has MS and has to stay with us once a month over the weekend.  She was getting a little bossy with me last Saturday night, so when she laid down to sleep for the night I put Midsommar on for her and told her it was a romantic comedy that takes place in lovely Sweden.

Wait. I need more details. How’d she react?

Last year, I made the mistake of talking a girl I was trying to bang into watching Midsommar. She said she was into horror movies, but it turns out she meant more like Scream or I Know What You Did Last Summer. 😂

I wonder if she’d be down for another movie night. 🤔

She passed out from her night meds before things got nuts, but she thanked me in the morning since the last thing she saw before she went to bed was that gruesome beginning where her sister killed herself and her entire family.

If I’m ever lucky enough to have a mother-in-law, I’m definitely going to do this. However, I’ll make sure to hide her night meds first (if she has any). If we’re both lucky enough to still be around when that happens, I’ll let you know how it goes. 😂

I have read a bunch of positive reviews about "Red Rooms," so I decided to check it out this afternoon.  It did not disappoint.  Holy sheet.  This may have been the most tense horror/thriller I have ever seen.  The whole movie is in French, so it's English subtitled.  I can't even describe the feeling I have after watching this movie - maybe gross, somewhat satisfied, but I loved every minute of it.  Similar to after my 25 second smash sessions these days.  I don't want to give anything away, but this is an instant classic for me.

I have never had such a difficult time getting through a movie that had literally no violence at all, no rape, I don't even think they cursed.  The nature of the crimes that they discuss are heinous and gut-wrenching, and they do an incredible job putting the viewer in their shoes through the whole film.  @mikemack8, the score is also top notch.  Completely adds to the suspense and shock.

Yeah I think so. My Shudder is connected to my Amazon Prime and I didn’t check, but it has to be.

Just watched this last night. It was fantastic. Deeply unsettling. Cinematography was incredibly well done. All the actors were good but Depp and Skarsgard absolutely crushed it.

Anyone ever watch Arcadian?  Post apocalypse monster movie - the monsters in this are f’n wild.  Nothing earth shattering plot wise but those monsters are worth the price of admission

Yeah that’s a good one.  Talk about a mind F.  If you’re on a Nick Cage horror binge, try Color out of Space. It’s an awesome body horror movie.

So I just saw one for the books.   It's one of those movies that makes me question certain decisions I've made in life, and when I finished, I felt much worse about myself for actually getting through it.  It's called Headless and I found it on Plex.  It's probably the most disgusting movie I've ever seen.  Here's the plot:  A serial killer with a tormented soul chooses innocent female victims to murder - always torturing them first with 2 main consistencies.  He scoops out and/or cuts out their eyeballs (sometimes before and sometimes after he kills them), eats them, then decapitates them and has sex with the heads.

I just started a new one on Youtube called "Splatter: Naked Blood."  I'll report back with details.  Just when I think I've gone down the deepest and darkest wormholes, I go ahead and find something like this:

"contains one of the most appalling scenes in Japanese horror" according to sources.  Bye bye pants!!

Edit:  Just finished.  It was stupid.  There were a few cringe moments, but it was so poorly done it didn't matter.  Headless is much worse IMO.

The fact that I have to even ask you about "one of the most appalling scenes in Japanese horror” is disappointing, bro.

Spoiler

There’s a scene where the Japanese broad tempura fries her own hand, eats it, then she slices off her nipple and part of her own vachina and eats those too.  I tried to keep my pants on during this part but it was just too much.

I don’t know why, but that sounds so much more enjoyable to watch than the eyeball-scooping, decapitated head Fer. 😂
