Someone in the writing team needs firing. What on earth was the Rock story about if he wasn’t even there? What a complete joke and a complete waste of time.

Night 2 of wrestlemania flat out sucked. Might be the worst one ever. When the highlight of the night is "Dirty Dom” winning IC gold, that is telling. Other than that match, nothing really either concluded or advanced a story. The main event mostly seemed like a vehicle to promote Travis Scott’s (whoever that is) "music”.

I was thinking the reason for Cena winning was to go back to one title. Let Cena be the all time winningest guy and lets them focus on one title.

I liked night 1, it was just night 2 that I thought sucked. Iyo, Rhea, Bianca was a good match but the ending sucked. Another Iyo title run doesn’t do much for me. Too many wwe stars don’t speak English or dont speak much English. It’s a problem. Iyo is great in the ring but can’t carry a story. I fear Rhea, Bayley and Charlotte who are far and away the best the WWE has in the women’s division are being pushed down to irrelevant mid carders. Priest and LA Knight who should be rising stars are also seemingly being pushed down to irrelevancy. Just not really sure what direction the wwe is taking.

I think they are going to have a tournament for a new title with Rollins winning.

Didn’t they do that for the other world championship belt?

Yeah, recycled ideas are a staple of wwe.

I think it's more political than that.

I think The Rock is still butthurt over last year and took his ball and went home.

Iyo earned the right to retain, IMO. She’s over with the crowd despite English not being her first language. And trust me, Rhea and Charlotte aren’t being relegated to the midcard, lol. But honestly, I’m kind of sick of Charlotte, so I’d be fine with less of her. However, Bayley has been booked horribly as of late. If I fear for any of the women, it’s her. I’m hoping she gets built back up this year—but I need her to drop that terrible finisher.

Couldn’t agree more. Cena’s turn would’ve been just as impactful without the Rock. They like to throw the term "long-term booking/storytelling” out there, but Cena already beat Cody. What else is there to do?

I thought Wrestlemania was Cena's last match. Apparently not.

Tbh i was underwhelmed by most of wrestlemania. I thought night two was just poorly scripted. Was a decent match or two but the crowd felt like it lacked juice at times. Plus the final Match build up was overhyped. No offense to cena he looked slow in that match and like he hadn’t wrestled at a wrestlemania in 7 years. Like what was said above, the rock storyline makes no sense if he disappears after setting up the match and can’t even show up to your biggest event. Like i figured they’d have cena win to get him 17 after everything he’s done with wrestling but that match to Win his last title was about 3 years too late and how it played out was a disaster.

Phenomenal camera work

The Rock says that TKO CEO, Ari Emanuel called him for help because ticket sales for Elimination Chamber were slow, and wanted something must-see.

He came up with the whole "sell your soul” idea for Cody Rhodes, then Triple H suggested John Cena.

The Rock says he wanted to step out of the spotlight and let all the spotlight be on John Cena & Cody Rhodes.

He says he called Cena & Rhodes after EC & said "I think the Final Boss’ work is done. — We’ve just pulled off the greatest angle in the history of pro wrestling”

There might be some truth to that, but ultimately, it’s just The Rock being lazy. And while Cena’s turn was cool, in the end, the story and match fell flat. I’ve been seeing some people try to justify the match being lackluster because Cena said he was going to ruin wrestling; that just feels like a cop-out.

Yeah it would have been. He supposedly sold out to the Rock yet the Rock played no part. In fact he wasn’t seen after elimination chamber. So what was the point of it all?

I mean it has to be right? Otherwise someone should be fired because it made no sense. To be fair the Rocks presence since Mania last year hasn’t made sense.

From what a lot of wwe bloggers took from the rock interview on mcafee yesterday he did elimination chamber cause they were having trouble selling tickets.

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo has claimed that The Rock wants to kick Triple H out of the company. He thinks The Rock is setting up Triple H for a fall.

"They don't like each other. They've hated each other for close to 30 years. Rock pulled the Shawn Michaels character of Young Rock. There is a history of it. Rock is 1 billion % setting up Triple H for the fall. He knows exactly what he's doing. He knew people were going on him for not being at WrestleMania, and all that heat was going to go at Triple H. He knows exactly what he's doing,” Russo said.

Interesting.

I don't know how much credence I would put into what Russo says, but he's probably not wrong in the fact that there is dissention with Triple H and Rock. Not so sure about the whole coup thing and Rock trying to overthrow him.

Rock is Hollywood first and one of the reasons he came back last year for the Mania build with Rhodes is because he hit a cold run with his Hollywood projects failing. So WWE was his fall back and to his credit he put together a great program with Rhodes and Reigns. But if he gets hot again in Hollywood and gets more projects, he'll have less of a presence in WWE. He's working on the "Smashing Machine" now so I'm assuming that's taking most of his time.

What a snooze fest backlash was. I can’t believe I renewed my peacock subscription for that. Lyra and Becky were great but nothing happened…at all.

I feel like they are all going to be lame until we get to the fall when Cena is finally done. Dude is way past his prime and trying to do a farewell tour like Magic and Larry did in the NBA. Forcing us to watch lame match after lame match for the glorification of his ego.

I went to my first AEW show on Sunday for Double or Nothing in Phoenix and it was a great show. The card went nearly five hours, but if felt like two due to the pacing of matches and the limited buffers like backstage or interview segments. No commercial breaks either. It was just match after match. Ospreay and Page put on an unbelievable match for the main event. Great storyline between those two with Page trying to get back to the top of the mountain and face Mox for the title next.
