People still not understanding what freedom of speech means might be the most hilarious part of this entire thing.

Free market economy in action. It's Activist investors putt their money where their mouth is.

Has nothing to do with the Government.

(Although Twitter is supposed to be neutral while being protected by Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, many have argued that their one-sided censorship makes them a Publisher, not a Platform, and they should lose this protection)

Yep, Private companies have the right to regulate speech on their own platforms, like FB and Twitter. Some people just don't get it. But it's the Dems fault because conspiracy nuts and lies are censored by Twitter and FB and this is somehow a violation of the 1st Amendment.

As usual youre wrong and have the same exact take as a 14 year old.  See iladelphs post directly above yours

Whats really going on here is that you're mad that your side is losing its ability to censor political opponents by just a little bit and you cant stand it.

Like 99% of modern libs, youre a fascist in disguise

It's not our fault the other side is pushing constant lies. Maybe clean that up instead of whining about it?

Trump is literally a traitor to the United States of America who tried to have a presidential election overturned. F him and his banned Twitter account

God bless Joe Biden for saving democracy :usa:

Yeah totally, thank god our country is now back to "normal" with" open borders, inflation, proxy wars (stay tuned for more).   Now it's even extra normal with oir little dementia patient great granpda for POTUS, and still featuring Covid!

Seriously CNN scared you into voting for a guy who has accomplished nothing in 83 years in politics except for riding Obamas nuts and getting handsy with kids

Good job

Better than being fooled into voting for a traitor.

Make sure to also report I'm absolutely balling regardless of who the president is. Need a loan?

I also never have watched CNN. Never, not once.  Never watched network news in my entire life. You can't say the say for Fox news and Tucker Carlson, can you?

Every thread

Twitter has always been an irredeemable cesspool, I don't really know how Musk could make it any worse. I guess if you grew up as sheltered Gen Z/Millennial whose life's work and personal identity is throughly intertwined with social media, this might be super important. Either way, I'm happy that my life is sufficiently detached from Twitter to really give a $hit about this matter.

Section 230 does not include any neutrality requirement.

And it specifically gives platforms wide latitude in moderating content.

No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be held liable on account of any action voluntarily taken in good faith to restrict access to or availability of material that the provider or user considers to be obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, whether or not such material is constitutionally protected

Bwahahahaha

Sure, except for all the begging for big daddy government to step in and punish private enterprise because they banned your hero. But yeah other than that, it has nothing to do with government. I get it, eventually becoming everything you pretended you hate because your feelings got hurt is very much on brand for a trumpbot with a "don't tread on me" avatar.
