April 24, 20223 yr It would be hilarious if Elon actually ended up buying Twitter. I still believe it was a troll job at the beginning, but at some point Elon thought "but what if I actually DID buy Twitter?" Peak 2022.

The board is taking it more seriously because he claims to have financing lined up. They have a fiduciary duty to discuss and engage if they believe he has real backing. Still a long way from doing a deal.

No, Gates hit him up for money for some climate change charity and he told him to F off. Because Bill Gates is a slimeball. April 25, 20223 yr This again? People have complained about Gates' philanthropy for decades, and yes his track record hasn't exactly been flawless, but you know what? At least he's F'ing trying. I really hate this notion that unless someone bats 1.000 on all forms of philanthropy or gives the money in the exact way that some critic thinks they would do it, that it somehow makes it any less altruistic. The fact of the matter is that at the end of the day, there's virtually nobody that has given or done as much the Gates to help people all across this planet. So until Musk, Bezos, or anyone else wants to step up and donate similar amounts of their time and money to doing so, they can kindly STFU when it comes to philanthropy.

Basically Steve Jobs 2.0 You'd think the guy who supposedly almost died from malaria would do a lot more to helping fight the disease. Gates, meanwhile, has donated obscene amounts of money to malaria research, and Musk is content to keep tweeting about dogecoin 24/7, yet he wants to claim it's Gates that's not taking philanthropy seriously?

Yeah but he supplies the potatoes to McDonald's.
April 25, 20223 yr Numerous articles are making it seem like it's going to happen I don't use twitter but it has been funny to see the reactions to this. Some are acting like it's the end of the world
