we'd have to ask our resident tire rack stock boy, @Procusto answer that question.

I can almost see how there could be a mechanical adjustment that would work in a way similar to adding or removing air, but I dunno.

Tesla shares plunge to wipe out $73 billion in market value, after dour earnings call

https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/25/investing/tesla-stock-drop-china-sales/index.html

Quote

While it reported a sizeable 38% increase in deliveries last year compared with 2022, Tesla had previously targeted a 50% annual growth rate averaged over several years.

Tesla’s (TSLA) financial results for the last quarter also disappointed, with adjusted earnings per share down 40% from a year earlier, and revenue, which rose 3% to top $25 billion, coming in below market forecasts.

It was the second straight quarter the company fell short of earnings forecast by analysts, following a string of better-than-expected results stretching back to the start of 2021.

Bummer

He planned for this

Content fed from the algorithm is abysmal lately. Sponsored crap like this gets bumped to the top while the stuff I really want to see can't be found. It drives me away from using the app at all.

I know when I want a competent attorney that's gonna win my case, I think of former Trump officials.

Tesla Recalling Almost Every Car It's Sold In The US

The issue affects more than 2 million cars and is the first recall to hit the long-awaited Cybertruck.

I don’t understand why every software update and/or recall put out for Teslas is such a big deal… my 2016 Chevy Silverado has had multiple recalls on it including brake booster losing power over time which they fixed by reprogramming the computer to increase brake assist and issued an extended warranty to cover the part in question. All cars have recalls and issues and it is generally accepted that new models or even model years will have more issues. Is it really surprising that an electric car is requiring periodic software updates?

I have never had a car that was subject to a recall.

It is certainly news when a company recalls EVERY car they made. That you seem to matter of fact about it being normal, seems really weird to me.

Apparently, if you want to tow any sort of cargo, you can expect your range to drop to around 100 miles.

That does not sound like much to me.

One note, they use the term recall with Tesla but it's really an over the air software update so not quite as ominous as it sounds.  Still terrible quality on their part and there's a report out there of a Tesla phantom braking this weekend leading to the death of a person which is scary and sad

I’ve had recalls on every relatively new car I’ve ever owned - Chevy, Mazda, Honda, and Subaru. This is a brand new type of car not just a new model.   And I’m assuming a lot of these issues are related to pieces of code that apply to every model which is why they apply to every car. My truck’s brake recall, for example, applied to all of their Silverados as well as some other models (SUVs I think) made over a multiple year span that used the same part.

Again, I thought it was common knowledge and understood that range would be drastically reduced while towing. It is the same for gas powered vehicles as well - I’ve see the instantaneous mileage readout on my truck’s dash drop to 0 while towing my camper through the mountains. In general, I get around 20 mpg normal driving and around 12-15 while towing on highway trips.

My Honda Pilot got recalled as part of the air bag issue.  It got a lot of attention in the media yet I never felt the need to leap to Honda’s defense.

oh yeah, well if you owned a chevy, mazda, subaru or tesla, you'd understand.

I owned a legacy for 12 years. No recalls. The wife had a Chevy Blazer a while, it sucked hard, but never was recalled. Not while we owned it.

I watched a review of the Cybertruck towing capability Apparently it is awesome, if you are not going far.

When you get the first release of a new car, there are generally recalls. It's pretty common. Comparing it to vehicles that have been in production for years/decades is unfair.

Musk is a clown, but this is pretty standard stuff.
