I guess my mistake is I started following local politicians to see what they were up to in my neighborhood. Now anything politics adjacent is stuck in my feed. This how far Twitter has fallen... At halftime last night I did a search for Jalen Hurts: Old Twitter: posts from sportswriters mentioning he's in the blue tent, people inside the stadium posting pics of action on the sidelines, neuroscientists dissecting the hits he took and his chances of a concussion, fans discussing his status, fantasy sports going over stats, etc... New X: two posts about Jalen going into the tent, followed by pages of paid garbage I didn't want or need. There is so much boosted static in my Xshitter feed I don't even want to read it anymore.

I follow football and baseball sportswriters. She is dating a pitcher so I guess it is baseball tangent. Whatever. The people I actually want to read on Twitter are indie sportswriters that don't get paid to promote their work. If I want to read sponsored garbage there are plenty of news aggregators that will do it for me.
