I change my mind, This wins the internet today

Pretty much, except it's not so much individuals moving farther left as it's each successive generation being significantly farther left than previous generations of liberals. At least from my perspective, my views haven't changed a whole lot since high school and have probably moderated a bit, if anything. Most of my liberal friends seem to generally be in the same place they were 10 or 15 years ago, if only leaning more into progressivism while having politically come-of-age a little later than I did. The guys on the right are definitely hightailing it to the extreme, though. The conservatives that I've known were mostly level-headed people that have really gone off the deep end.

The 1960s was the high-water mark for liberalism in the U.S.  In the 1970s American conservatism began picking up steam.  I’d argue that Republicans can pretty much nominate any wackjob in red districts and they’ll win.  The Dems aren’t that lucky.  When they nominate nutty people they lose.

As far as a movement maybe but the country is far more liberal now overall than it was back in the 70s. Not even close.

Disagree, it’s the opposite.

Roe v. Wade has never been closer to being overturned than now

What world do you live in? Here in Jersey they could put a dead guy on the ballot and win as long as he is a D. Some northern counties dont even field a R candidate because they have no shot.

90% of Congressional districts are this way, only difference is which team gets to pick their rep.

This is one of the reasons the ideologues in both parties have increased power over previous generations - the vast majority of districts are drawn to be non-competitive.

California has done a lot of things wrong, but one of the good things they've done is how congressional districts are drawn. Applying that model on a national scale would go a long way towards reducing the political power of the radical wings in both parties.

Musk's left/right caricature is stupid and he knows it. There are certainly plenty of leftists that have pushed the party too far left to its own detriment, but it ignores that the inmates are running the asylum on the right.

He's the new Trump of Twitter: a prominent, self-obessed d-bag who trolls and Tweets way too much because he's constantly in need of attention and approval.

I hate that both-sider Musk

Musk sounds just like Dr. Philly
