This is all so stupid. It wouldn’t matter who the buyer is - $54.20 isn’t going to get it done. Even a shareholder vote would fail spectacularly. The 52 week high was in the 70s - a buyer would need to be close to that.

If Musk was serious, he’d up his bid to a number that has to be taken seriously. Or he would actually go hostile and launch a tender without conditions. Right now he’s just trolling the market and the SEC.

I'm putting out an offer to buy a controlling interest in Twitter at $.002 / share.

I would imagine that's against the wishes of the people who run Twitter.

I too am a hostile takeoverer.

No - you are a progressive leftist.  😄 The quote you posted was in response to what Vikas wrote after I posted several headlines which stated that Musk is working on a hostile takeover.  You can quibble on semantics, but his takeover bid will likely be resisted by the board and management.  So call it what you like.

I don't have a Twitter account so not me.

However, this is clearly a "right vs. left" thing to a lot of people. They think Musk is bringing back all the people who have been banned.

I'm a capitalist. I couldn't care less whether or not he buys Twitter. Those whining are beeches.

Your take on my politics is the kind of binary stupidity that is your hallmark.

I don't think Musk cares about right / left. This is brand awesome.

A win / win situation for him whether he pulls it off or not.

He's having fun. Good for him. Look at how much attention it's getting.

You can't take it with you.

Microsoft bought LinkedIn at a 50% premium so he'd have to be somewhere in the 30-40% ballpark to at least be taken seriously.

It's kind of funny that all the right-wingers complaining about Twitter being catered to liberals are all posting.......tweets.

 God bless this place man. Truly.

What - you mean there's also been a purge of liberal voices at Twitter?

Do you seriously believe he gave his best offer up front?  Nah.

They will look at premium, but being so far away from the 52 week high is a non-starter. Hell, the stock was higher than this in Q4 ‘21. Board would get sued and massacred if they advised to accept, and shareholders would likely vote it down.

You mean at $54 a share or something in the mid-60's? If the former, then yeah I agree that this current offer is a joke, and either he knew it too and is trolling, or he's just wildly optimistic. But anyone pinching their weiner over this with the thought that this is even close to a done deal is gonna be sorely disappointed.

54. If Musk got to ~65, then we have a ballgame. But I don’t see him going that far, and maybe not at all. This reeks of being a play to thumb his nose at the SEC, given the history.

The only time I read a tweet is when someone posts it on this board lol.

I bet Mark Cuban is right and FB, Google, and the rest are scrambling to see if they can buy Twitter instead. Musk is about to make a ton of money and can start his own Twitter as the plan B he mentioned fully funded by others. Hilarious to watch.

Purge? How many people being banned is a purge?

We've seen how well that has worked for others.

Highly doubt it. They've had far better chances to do so before now.

It's a CYN joke. He was the greenskeeper of the old boards, only spoke in broken sentence fragments or bad Ben Garrison memes.
