Pretty cool to see an eagles receiver with some shoulders. 😄

No, gutsy GMs make their picks as explained by Bill Walsh - The Master of the Draft, you'll read much of what I've been saying for years......great minds think alike.

Someone should get this article to Coward Roseman.

I honestly don’t intend this as a personal shot, but did you just compare yourself to Bill Walsh?

He did, as as is he proclaiming the draft practices of the early 1980’s to be the standard of today

I'm comparing our thoughts on how to go about building a roster.

You chose the players that will best help your team win, so tell me, what's changed?

No free agency, no salary cap, no dead cap hits, 12 round draft, 26 teams spreading all talent, of which less than a quarter use any analytics at all in their draft strategies, and of which only 3-4 were title contenders at any given time due to the imbalanced league…

Oh yeah you’re right, everything is exactly the same as it was before.

I don't know how anyone can dislike this trade... Our offense immediately is much better with another LEGITIMATE threat

But the objective is still to select the players that will best help your team win, in essence, nothing has changed.

Personally I would have selected Christin Watson or Treylon Burks, kept that 3rd, and saved tens of millions dollars for signing other players during the 2023 FA period.

And risked yet another bust all for the sake of a 3rd round pick who could yet be another bust... AJ is by no means the best wr in the league but he's proven... AJ and Smith are by far the best duo we've had in probably DECADES

Every team you mentioned that doesn’t trade picks for players has indeed traded picks for players all within the last few years as well.  Your failing to understand the one time these teams  will do it tho which is when the player is a gamechanger and still on rookie contracts.  Which so happens to be the exact same situation with the aj brown trade.

Somebody should remind him of that time we made that horrible move of trading a 1st round pick for Jason Peters. What a disaster that turned out to be!

I swear some people complain because they think complaining makes them look smart.

There is NOTHING to complain about with this move. The Eagles needed a WR to complement Smith and they got one of the best, young talents out there.

I have said this before and I will say it again, when it comes to drafting, the WR has been an ORGANIZATIONAL blind spot. This goes far beyond Howie. They have drafted 65 WRs in the history of the franchise and only five WR really have panned out - Tommy McDonald, Harold Carmichael, Mike Quick, Fred Barnett, and DeSean Jackson. Even with that said, Fred Barnett and DeSean Jackson were good, but never really great.

They have always done better when they brought a WR in from the outside. Alshon,TO, Fryer, etc.

NOTE: Even though they did draft Cris Carter, I did not include him on this list since they cut him and he did nothing here.

Maclin was far from a miss.

I didn't say they never trade picks, the point I was trying to make is keep your picks and build through the draft and Coward Roseman doesn't do that because he's afraid of making his own picks, one day he'll learn it's better to trade players for picks instead of trading picks for players.

The problem with the coward is is he doesn't know when to unload players for picks, that or he's afraid of the Eagles fans ripping him for trading a fan favorite, that's how cowards roll.

No you flat out said they don’t trade picks then I proved they do now you say you never said never.   A successful team uses all avenues available to them to build a championship contender.  Howie has proven once he can win it all.  This team is a secondary and qb away from that and howie said they wouldn’t fix everything in one offseason but can you honestly say they didn’t get a lot better with our moves?   For what it’s worth howie has the 6th highest hit rate in last 10 years so turns out he’s a little better then you

I never said the team didn't get better, that's something you conjured up in your mind, because of that I don't have time for anymore back and forth about this topic.

Moreover, I personally don't know why anyone cares about what I think, I sure as hell don't care what you guys think, I mean I respect your opinions but you don't see me attempting to tell you you're wrong.

Enjoy the season!!

BTW, "hit rate", that's well defined.

Within the context of your referencing Bill Walsh, everything has changed.

Teams werent dangling franchise players for picks like they do now. Teams weren’t declining to pay their stats due to salary cap implications.

To say nothing has changed and his draft strategies are the same as today would be to say he wouldn’t happily drop picks on a Lawrence Taylor the way LAC did for Khalil Mack, which is preposterous.

If Bill Walsh was a GM today, he’d be wheeling and dealing just like everyone else. The majority of SB winning teams this millenium have done this to build their rosters, Howie is not some anomaly.

It was well defined on what they considered hits in the article.

I was legitimately asking you that’s why I framed it as a question.  It wasn’t to start crap. I was seriously asking your input on if you think they got better or not

The guys is going to wear number 11. I wonder if people are okay with that.

So I'm watching UNDISPUTED with Shannon &Skip, the story they're telling is Hurts and Brown are best friends that have been working out together for the past 3 offseasons.

Remember this post next time you are arguing with @EagleVA, he clearly does not have his finger on the pulse of the Eagles.

No one cares.  Anyone who liked Wentz doesn't give an ish about his jersey number.

Welcome to Philly fans.
