I have no idea what a trigger warning even is. Guessing it is something made up like gluten free crap to make people feel better about themselves?

It's basically supposed to be a disclaimer when some kind of sensitive topic is about to be discussed. For example, if you're about to discuss rape as it relates to a scene in a book perhaps, you would issue a "trigger warning" so that if any rape survivors are present for which this might cause emotional distress, they can either leave or whatever. I don't know. But the bottom line according to the above is doing so just reinforces the identity of the person as a victim of rape, never allowing them to move on from it.

That makes sense actually and sounds like they need to sign up for Johnny Hopkins study on PTSD and shrooms.
June 8, 20205 yr I’ve seen them a lot in the fertility forums I’ve been in. Sometimes it’s "trigger warning - miscarriage discussed” or my favorite "trigger warning - pregnancy discussed”. Like no crap.. why are we here if not to discuss pregnancies and loss. I’ve been through several and they are very painful experiences but you aren’t helping me by posting a trigger warning first. 1. You’re still bringing it up by virtue of the warning and 2. Just as that study reveals, it reinforces some idea that one can’t process an event in their lives without having psychological trauma every time it’s brought up. It keeps you in a bad headspace and makes you feel like you SHOULD feel victimized by it, even if you aren’t.

June 9, 20205 yr From what I've read our millionaire drama queens are gonna start this kneeling crap all over again. I've never felt the need to display myself as that submissive. Maybe they should go all in and roll over on their backs begging for a belly rub.
