At the end of the day, as stupid as it may seem, there are millions of kids and teenagers out there who love Demi Lovato and her music, and are going to see her calling herself "we" and "they" and think that it's completely normal to think that you are both a man and a woman at the same time. It's unfortunate. Yeah, and violent video games will make your kids a murderer. 🙄 It's amazing you think this is such a huge deal. It's just stupid. And if your kids get screwed up because of something Demi Lovato said, that's probably because you are a really terrible parent.

It's unfortunate. That does not sound like a Demi Lovato problem, or a liberal problem. Sounds like a parenting problem to me.

There are tons of kids identifying as "non-binary" because it's seen as a hip, trendy thing to do. Lovato doing it is a reflection of the mental illness that the left facilitates. I remember not too long ago, last yesterday, if you will, when stuff like this was unheard of. Now major celebrities are endorsing the mental illness. Bad sign.

So I'll let you mental midgets worry about the Demi Lovato news, and I'll spend my time being more worried about the sex trafficking politicians in Florida.
May 19, 20214 yr Can we take the this Lovato argument to the beef thread? I want to find out if it's packing roast beef or beef hotdogs.

May have been a few "bombshells l" concerning that story you missed while watching TMZ yesterday.

May 20, 20214 yr It's funny, there was a CNN article that came up about "How to Get Someone's Pronouns Correct." A lot of times, I like to gauge how a specific segment of people feel about an issue by looking at the like/laugh ratio. If the stereotype were true that everyone on the left is a blue-haired woke queen, you'd expect to see overwhelming support. Well, actually, the most common reaction was "laughs" with 2.4k, followed by likes with 1.1k, so more than twice as many people on the left think that this **** is stupid than think it's reasonable. This pretty much squares with what I've found in my circles. At the end of the day, though, it sure generates clicks and shares, especially on the right.

You know at least 50% of those reacts were people on the right or middle though, right? And assuming that all of those were laughs, at 1.75k, that leaves your ratio at something closer to .7k to 1.1k.....

You have to account for some of them being people on the right/center, but I still think the vast majority of people following CNN are liberals. CNN would only appear in your feed if you're following them, so while I'm sure some people follow CNN just to troll, most are viewers. I can only really speak for myself, but I don't really know anyone who is into this stuff, and most of my friends and family are Democrats. It seems that this is squarely a Gen Z thing. It gets associated with Millennials, but I'm an older Millennial, and outside of coastal cities and college campuses, it really doesn't seem to garner much support. But the media certainly amplifies it.
May 20, 20214 yr Anyway, here's your daily dose of woke stupdiity: Quote Penn State will remove gendered, binary terms like 'freshman' and 'upperclassman' Among its recommendations were to replace terms like "freshman" and "upperclassman" with "first-year" and "upper-division." May 19, 2021, 1:31 PM EDT By Wilson Wong Pennsylvania State University officials approved a measure that would remove gendered and binary terms like "freshman" and "upperclassman" from course and program descriptions late last month. The changes were suggested in a Penn State University Faculty Senate proposition, AD84 Preferred Name and Gender Identity Policy, which passed on April 27, a university spokesperson told the student newspaper The Daily Collegian. It was unclear when the updated language would be implemented. The proposition recommended changing the nomenclature of college classes from "freshman," "sophomore," "junior" and "senior" to "first-year," "second-year," "third-year" and "fourth-year." Among its other recommendations were replacing the terms "underclassmen" and "upperclassmen" with "lower division" and "upper division," as well as he/him/his and she/her/hers pronouns with they/them/theirs pronouns. The impetus for the changes was to move beyond the school's lexicon of "sexist and classist" terms and to build a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, according to the proposition. Terms like "freshman” and "upperclassmen” carried a "strong, male-centric, binary character" and terms like "junior" and "senior" ran "parallel to western male father-son naming conventions," the proposition said. If implemented, the recommendations would be enforced in all written materials, including recruiting information, admissions materials, internal documents and school websites. Penn State University did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/penn-state-will-remove-gendered-binary-terms-freshman-upperclassman-n1267915
