Trumpbots: Nike is exaggerating how good the US women’s basketball team is! They’re not even that good!  Who do they even play against!

With respect, did you watch the commercial?

The issue being mocked isn't the celebrating of successful Olympic athletes.

It's the SJW/woke parts of the commercial.

..thats just the patriarchy

Yes, I watched the commercial.  Yes, obviously there’s exaggerations in it, as there would be for any commercial trying to praise and pump something up.  Let alone a commercial clearly targeting youth.  No obviously the women’s basketball team isn’t actually a greater dynasty than Alexander the Great.
No, it doesn’t bother me that they made a commercial trying to pump up how awesome the women’s team is.
There were tons of "platitudes” made about the eagles after winning the Super Bowl too. I enjoyed them. Obviously the eagles winning the super bowl wasn’t "actually” the biggest moment in philadelphia history.  Obviously the Philly Special wasn’t actually the biggest decision ever made.  Obviously Nick Foles doesn’t actually have a nine inch….wait a minute that ones probably true….

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Jason Kelce on the boardwalk in sea isle, and he was nice enough to take a picture with my son.  Afterwards I leaned down to my son and said, "you’re too young to understand this, but this man gave the most important speech in the history of Philadelphia”.   Thank god Mike31mt, KZ, and Matt Walsh weren’t in earshot of the conversation to come correct me on how George Washington gave a much more important speech in 1776….

A commercial making gross exaggerations is not especially uncommon. Is Bounty truly the quicker picker upper?

Someone had a double shot of espresso in their soy latte this morning. Holy ish.

He only ruled for like 12 or 13 years, no? US women got that beat by a mile.

There's a difference between claiming your product is the best on the market and a woke/SJW agenda that mocks the patriarchy, and you know that.  Stop being obtuse.

They weren't trying to make a point for the WNBA.  That would be silly, the WNBA is helpless

The point they were trying to make....Im not sure it had much to do with sports, but hey sure this is about (checks notes) patriotism??

Yea so like I said, by your logic, almost every Olympic event is a sport 99% of people don't care about yet a story of a gymnast backing out of a competition dominates the headlines on ESPN for over a week. Strange dichotomy.

Or just maybe, your post was bad and you should feel bad.

Why do I find it so easy to just completely ignore the woke agenda and so many people cannot? I could care less about the name on my bag of rice or what's on the label of my pancake syrup. I don't care what happens during the national anthem, I just enjoy the game. Etc.

Not true. I'm a huge alpine skiing fan.

So what exactly do you think Mike meant when he said Nike was hyping up a sport 99% of people don't care about? Why would he bring up their level of competition at all?

Racist.  Wow youre just going to crap on a black institution like the globetrotters?

I think the complication here is the cringy virtue signaling by trying to elevate a team no one cares about, including the other 99% of the planet that doesnt give a F about womens basketball.  Just a guess.

So it's just women you hate then?

He doesn't know. Trump said Nike bad so he has to hate it.

I can't speak for Mike or read his mind, but you can ask him.  I'm talking about the woke nature of the commercial.

No it doesn't make me upset, and I already did admit that in the very post you quoted.

Laughing through your tears though, right?

Well, you might be confused, but it seems pretty clear to me that our resident trumpbots are absolutely mocking the issue of celebrating American Olympians.

Hence the context of terp's post you responded to that was obviously directed at Kz and Mike.

So Alexander the Great either died of malaria or was poisoned, most historians think. Did any US women BBall players die of malaria? Were any poisoned? I think not. Advantage US women.

Swing, and a miss.

I love the idea of celebrating black and female athletes and inspiring girls with positive role models. You can do that without mocking "the patriarchy" and old white men.  For example, Tamyra Mensah-Stock, the first black woman to win gold in wrestling.  She celebrates her love of America draped in the flag, talks about her faith in God and her perseverance, and the honor of being a role model for young girls to be able to visualize themselves on that platform.

That's fair, I didn't read all those posts.

The only way the women’s team could be any greater was if Joe Biden was the coach

So you started your post by saying "with due respect, did you watch the video?" when you hadn't even bothered to read the posts terp was responding to?

What's above a dynasty? I think they would need to come up with new word in that case.

Or just maybe the commercial was dripping with SJW nonsense, but all of you were robbed of your common sense and are now afraid to criticize just how spectacularly stupid and annoying the ad is

Its a stupid, pathetically-transparent ad but youre pretending to be blind to it

I meant exactly what I said, the commercial is less about celebrating their basketball wins and more about pushing a garbage SJW agenda

Again, anyone with a shred of common sense can see it, but you cant

Based on terp's comments, I was asking if terp watched the video.
