To be fair, the optics of all these leaders flying in on private jets is bad. Objectively whatever pollution is a bi-product of the travel to the summit is negligible against a typical daily amount produced globally, but at the same time these leaders holding a virtual conference or a number of regional conferences which could be traveled to via climate-friendlier means (rails or busses).

Regional conferences are interesting because they could be connected virtually where attendees could interact with each other via even virtual walls (giant walls with cameras broadcasting from other conferences where attendees can literally walk up and talk to people across continents) would probably have been better. It would not send the message "do as I say not as I do", and it would showcase climate-change friendlier methods of coming together in a single conference while not incurring the carbon debt - so to speak.

Oh I agree. I also know the lengths and preparation it takes for a former POTUS to travel anywhere.

I personally think the idea of a private jet is idiotic no matter who it is.

That is why you fail.

Yeah, why would you want to save yourself hours of your life, travel in peace and comfort, and avoid the unwashed masses when you can sit in coach with some screaming infant next to you while a bunch of low lifes delay your flight arguing over things like seat reservations and masks?

Oh I bet the experience of flying on one instead of a commercial is quite nice. Amazing even. Still doesn't mean I can't think it's idiotic. You are obviously free to feel however you like about them.

So...you only know like 3 people. Got it.

Time is a limited resource and a private jet maximizes your time.

I’m not a big fan of conspicuous consumption myself... 50,000 square foot houses and mega yachts don’t appeal to me at all. But not only is a private jet just a great experience for travel, it’s going to shave off around 20% of your travel time.

Wasteful and idiotic aren't the same thing. Everybody has their own priorities.

Private car —>  Private Jet

Public bus. —>  Commercial flying

Not only was that super witty, but so quick too! Now make a poor joke! Please?

That's probably true in a lot of cases (the time aspect). And time for very wealthy or "important" people has a lot of value. I suppose they makes sense in some cases.

No need, you're doing a great job making a joke of yourself.

My smile would be way bigger than that chumps. And that's a really plain, basic looking lego. Zero skills.

I am sure some in here still believe Trump colluded with Russia. Because these guys told you it was 100% true based on the Steel Dossier. For the record, Trump and his campaign were to incompetent to actually collude with Russia.  But one party actually conspired with and ran with and propagated Russian disinformation before the election and for the 4 years after the election.

Our Government is broken beyond repair, only a strong 3rd party could help to restore order, but it may be too late.

You realize that claiming that Trump and his staff were too dumb to collude with Russia isn’t a great defense, right?

But it's the truth. It's why I am confident he didn't knowingly collude with Putin -- he's too stupid. Plus, if he did, the moron would brag about it non-stop.

The Russians clearly did things to help him win, but he was just a useful idiot.

we will see where this goes, this maybe unconfirmed as of yet.
