December 15, 20213 yr I'm not on the left, but some here consider me so and I'm day drinking again so I'll take a stab. No. It's indefensible.

When I heard of the bug I started having Y2k flashbacks. Those were fund times. I was 21 and on a co-op at the time and they tasked me with building the company's bug tracking system. You are correct not to trust the minions. Just now, Alpha_TATEr said: and a drunk you is a better option ? If you are good, yes.

Hell here is an example of what I mean: I'm the lead architect on our project, I have a team of programmers who are really, really good at churning out code. They are given architecture documents and high level designs detailing the patterns they should use. And I *STILL* have to crack the whip because they are too focused on producing working code to meet deadlines so the deviate from the guidelines given. Often its only after I beat them over the heads for doing something against my specifications and show them what the future final state is and why I asked them to take the extra step do they get it. Architects\Leads look holistically. Developers often don't see past their nose and cause unintended issues. 6 minutes ago, 20dawk4life said: Nerd Big time. Big time i'd like to kick the developers of our phone system right now, considering it's down everyday and it's year end.

A little while back our company had the brilliant idea of migrating their email system to the cloud at quarter end. Of course everything went kaput for about 2 weeks. Partners were freaking out because they sort of need that pesky email to finish contracts so we can meet sales targets
