January 23, 20223 yr Europe doesn't have the recent history of slavery America does. But on an individual level, Europeans on average are definitely more racist. I've traveled all over Europe, and anything that threatens cultural heterogeneity gets MUCH more push back there than in the US. This sentiment is stronger, and is the root of racism. Human beings are the same everywhere. If the power dynamic of the ingroup is threatened by a member of an outgroup, the outgroup gets targeted by some members of the ingroup. Racism is hardly a uniquely American thing. And prejudice takes more forms than racism.

What would lead you to believe that attitudes towards race are much better now than 8 years ago? We can't even convince the youth in America that our attitudes on race have improved since the 60s.

January 23, 20223 yr 3 minutes ago, The_Omega said: Uh, it doesn't. Go back far enough and sure, slavery was there. But it doesn't have nearly the cultural impact in Europe as it does here. Did you even read the rest of my statement? Or just stop at the first line? We had far more slaves per capita than Europe. Descendants of slaves make up 13% of our population. In most European countries blacks make up a much smaller number, and many of those are immigrants not descendants of slaves. Looking at the south in 1860, the slave population made up anywhere from 30% to 57% of the population. This is as recently at 160 years ago. Europe didn't only enslave blacks; the Irish were also targets for slavers. However it's a lot easier for a person who looks alike to re-integrate into a culture over the course of a couple generations. If you're black, that is not such an easy thing. There is no way to make the argument that slavery is as culturally significant to Europe as it is here in the US, where such a huge portion of our population (especially in certain states) are descendants of slaves. Of course Europe is a huge part of the history of the slave trade. Nothing I stated says otherwise.

Yeah, he loves to forget that when it comes time for him to comment on something. He thinks he is one of those animals that are more equal than the other animals.

They did have the Notsee axis, however, which enslaved millions. You're just proof of how effective leftist propaganda is.
