At the time, Cruise was lambasted as unhinged (still might be true), and Lauer respectable.  Turns out Cruise had a point, and whatever happened to Matt Lauer?

If you're hanging your hat on one study whose conclusion was boiled down in one tweet shared by a moron on CVON ....

Bad news for liberals. Those SSRIs you've been taking like tic tacs for years are just placebos.

I have a bad feeling that a majority of the increase in marginal depression over the last century comes down to lack of exercise. Humans did not evolve to be so sedentary.

I'm certain that it has more to do with Dopamine than Seratonin.

And just for reference, 82F = 28C. So 24C is 75F.  20C is 68F.

"Science is replacing evolution by natural selection with evolution by intelligent design. Not the intelligent design of some god above the clouds, but our intelligent design, and the intelligent design of our clouds — the IBM cloud, the Microsoft cloud. These are the new driving forces of evolution.”

Quote

"Humans are now hackable animals. The whole idea that humans have this soul or spirit and they have free will, and nobody knows what’s happening inside me, so whatever I choose, whether in the election or whether in the supermarket, this is my free will — that’s over.”

If you're big enough to be two people, can you legitimately use plural pronouns?

The thing I find the most offensive is they name IBM cloud but leave out AWS and GCP.   :nonono:

I wonder if Sweden lies about the weather like they lie about Covid cases.

Man I didn't even know IBM had a cloud offering "competing" with AWS/Azure/GCP.

Might as well have thrown Oracle cloud in there.....

They got smoked in the cloud wars, so they are shifting to a "cloud agnostic" model.  They are providing software (They purchased Red Hat and rebranded a LOT of their software into "Cloud Paks") and services (partnership with Tata) that can work on any cloud platform and works with hybrid cloud models as well.  Smart piviot, really.  Can't compete with AWS, GCP and Azure?  Fine, work with all of them and still get your piece of the pie.

It's similar to what Lou Gerstner did in the late 90s when they walked away from the hardware business and turned themselves into the largest IT consulting firm in the world.

So they're not really competing just offering facilitation services. Makes sense as a pivot but would say it means the term "cloud provider" doesn't really fit imho

I think they still have a cloud offering but I'm not 100% sure.  It's not one of the 3 major players though.
