This is about Disney force feeding this BS into every single piece of intellectual property that they own. She Hulk getting mad at catcalling and mansplaining? YAAASSSS QUEEN! I'm not triggered or complaining.... I'm openly mocking it. There's a difference. I can't imagine what the problem is. I mean, everyone knows that women are better at controlling their emotions.......wait...

August 19, 20223 yr Men with low testosterone are definitely the target audience of a woke feminist superhero show, so it's not surprising who feels the need to defend it.

To me [that] was really the only time that I needed — that I was worried about what was going to happen because here was Trump who instructed people to commit acts of violence and he was pointing the finger at me and saying I was responsible for the death.” "One thousand percent, I’m nervous that a bunch of people who were instructed by the former president to go to the Capitol — and they killed a law enforcement officer — and you don’t think that I think to myself, ‘Are some of those people gonna come and kill me?'” -Alec Baldwin

I say that as someone who was obsessed with the X-Men and other Saturday morning comic book cartoons growing up. There's just so much and it's all repetitive. I've completely stopped trying to keep up with all of it. That whole show exists just for that one moment. So brave, so empowering.

August 22, 20223 yr It can be subtle in how writers/actors handle something like that. It could have been more comedic moment - the show is marketed as a more tongue-in-cheek rom-com after all. She could have laughed it off and made a one-liner joke about women and emotions. Bruce battled with having the Hulk takeover and hurt people, he lived with that guilt. He was hunted down by the military, betrayed, went through all those Avengers battles, lost to Thanos, dealt with all the people dying in the snap...but she's been catcalled! In The Avengers Bruce talks about getting so depressed that he tried to commit suicide but the Hulk spit out the bullet. But hey, Jen has male co-workers that mainsplain to her so it's like totally worse! On top of the fact that she has absolutely zero struggle and already manages her powers and every task perfectly with no development. Like Rey in Star Wars just having the Force and using a light saber against a fully trained opponent. Saw a line on social media that male heroes have to become, but women just are. It's actually a disservice to female characters to not treat them the same as males with the heroes journey, to face struggles, to have weaknesses, to fail and have to overcome.

You have never met a successful woman who was self absorbed and thought she was overly important? I sure have.
