Some people are more talented academically than others and have a greater capacity to excel. It's not racist to state the truth FFS. Yes. Everyone has different talents. Everyone has different natural abilities. Everyone has things that they just naturally get and are better at than others. Whether it be physical abilities, academic abilities, etc....I do believe that, barring a disability, everyone has the ability to at least be competent at any endeavor if they work hard enough and smart enough at it. But in terms of THRIVING at something, no, not everyone has the equal ability to thrive at every endeavor. Someone might be able to thrive at math but just be competent in writing while someone else is able to thrive at writing but just be competent in math, even though they are working just as hard at each. And someone else may just have a base level competency in math and writing while being able to thrive as a carpenter while the person who thrives at math or writing might not thrive at working with wood. And so on and so forth.

"Every college football player, if given the right opportunity and the right exposure, has the capacity to thrive." Would any sane person agree to this statement? Is the quarterback at Delaware State or West Chester or Illinois Wesleyan just not being given enough opportunity as Trevor Lawrence or Joe Burrow? If not, then who would believe that in academics?

The two daft, pseudo-intellectual harpies virtually tribbing each other in those tweets are saying that having a set of journalistic standards is some sort of structural/institutional racism. This is the sort of cow cud that gets regurgitated and chewed in academia and is gradually befouling everything else in society. It's fun!
