Revenue for arena group was actually up by 11% year over year from October 2022 to October 2023.

They did mention that in the article that was written. Jerry made the interviewer look like a true amateur.

The first trans cover model was in 2021. https://swimsuit.si.com/swimnews/meet-your-cover-model-2021-leyna-bloom They also put a "plus sized" model on the cover in 2022 as well as a 74 year old https://swimsuit.si.com/swimnews/meet-your-cover-model-2022-yumi-nu https://swimsuit.si.com/swimnews/meet-your-cover-model-2022-maye-musk When your core audience is males 18-54, you should probably give them what they want instead of trying to earn brownie points from people who don't even read your magazine. Welp, they went somewhere else.....
January 20, 20241 yr Print media is struggling to make money in the 21st century? This is shocking news. Next you're gonna tell me ProFootballWeekly, The Sporting News, and Popular Science all went belly up too.

If I recall, that's a pretty old video and at the time Jerry was doing a round table show of him and 3 comedians I forget what that was called. This was before Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee show. He had mostly white men at first but also included Chris Rock (I think, I might not be remembering correctly). One of the main complaints people gave him was not having more women on the show and people of color in that clip at the bar. I've seen other clips of Jerry being asked about diversity and he really hates that, always sticks to that line about his world is funny, you're either funny or not.

So by this logic the trans swimsuit cover helped them…. once again, this was not a "go woke go broke” thing. AG’s revenue in Q3 2023 had actually seen an 11% increase compared to q3 2022. But they had an operating loss of $6.8 mil that quarter. Better than the $11.8 mil operating loss in q3 2022, but still a loss none the less. Again, single variate analysis makes for great memes….

There isn’t as much mystery as to what went wrong compared to a private company as their financials are publicly available.
January 21, 20241 yr It’s hard to believe a print magazine company would fold in this day and age. Must be Wokeism. It’s really the only possible explanation.
