My point, which you clearly missed, was in regards to the stories that are painting this all as her fault as a DEI hire saying that she didn’t fix major infrastructure problems when anyone reporting with a shred of credibility would immediately look for deeper root causes when they saw that she’d only been hired 7 months ago. Lots of blame to go around. And lots of places for it lie. And it requires looking a whole lot deeper than saying the governor, or mayor, or fire chief, or any other single person failed. If you’re going to point to the fact that no reservoirs have been built since 2014, I can tell you that 10 years would be an aggressive timeline to design, permit, and build a new reservoir anywhere in the country. How far into the process had they gotten? What were the reasons, legitimate or otherwise, that no reservoirs were built? 
 

and then there’s the overarching question that I haven’t seen asked or answered in the very limited amount that I’ve looked into this:  If the reservoirs had been filled, and new reservoirs had been built and filled, would that have allowed the firefighters to stop or contain these wildfires and avoid or significantly reduce the damage incurred?  Maybe, or maybe the wind speed and direction changes would have still resulted in major widespread damage. I don’t know, but I think it is lazy and disingenuous to point to just the surface when something like this happens. 

These are all questions leadership are responsible for answering. I mean this is the role of government. In the second most sophisticated city in the country with enormous wealth and taxes these shouldn’t even be questions. This is an enormous failure on so many levels. And I’d like to know why this position is paying anyone $750K a year unless they have a proven background and knew they were in deep deep crap with this mess and had to pay that kind of salary to fix it.. but seems odd considering all the budget cuts made in regards to the fire department.

The wildfires rage like its politics, housing prices rival penthouse suites, and the homeless crisis makes one wonder if tents will be listed on Zillow. If this beauty queen continues to sing her song of woke/DEI nonsense, don’t expect to see her crying before the cameras in a tiara and sash.
