Aren't the numbers always revised down? I thought the 2023 jobs numbers were revised down in 2024. And so on for 2022, and some other years.

It isn't being swept under the rug. The guy was arrested and is being charged with murder. It wasn't more than a local news story before the video came out because there was no reason for it to be national news.

In a country of 350M murders unfortunately happen every day. Random violence happens every day. Not every murder warrants a national news story.

The only reason this made national news was the video and the political narrative that can be wrung out of it.

No doubt. "Both sides" will play stories like this for all they're worth.

Same with Floyd. The difference there was it was an officer of the law who murdered Floyd on video. It doesn't matter in that situation how crappy a person Floyd was, the officers acted in a way that was malicious and their actions directly led to Floyd's death.

If no video of Floyd was shared and it was nothing more than a local story of a guy "dying while being arrested" which is how the police report would have read, would it have made national news? No. Would it be evidence of the media "sweeping the story under the rug" or suppressing it? No.
