In fairness, yes Mamdani is looking for ways around property rights, but it would be hard to argue that many landlords in NYC haven't failed to adequately keep up with their properties. Far from that being an indictment on "capitalism" as Mandingo would say, it's actually an indictment on the big government that he champions, as there are more than enough laws in place to deal with the negligent landlords. Like everything else, the real problem is government fraud and incompetence which he is going to exacerbate exponentially.
