Procus Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Let's face it, Gannon sucks big time. There's plenty of talent on the defensive side of the ball. No excuse. Bring Fangio in ASAP!! 5
20dawk4life Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 LBs are suspect at best and Epps blows. DEs are average but deep. DTs should be studs. CBs are good.
brkmsn Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 A lot of bad tackling in week 1. Not surprised at all. I think this defense will be much better in October. 5
Random Reglar Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 stay the course. PFF had Jordan Davis as tops on defense. https://thelibertyline.com/2022/09/12/eagles-week-1-pff-grades/ 1
UK_EaglesFan89 Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 I'd move on because I wasn't impressed last year so if he had gone in the offseason I wouldn't have cared. But we also can't judge him for just one week of the new year. He needs to be better but so do the players. 1
pgcd3 Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Whatever the opinion of Gannon, Fangio is better no matter what 11
315Eagles Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 I remember there was alot of hype with Gannon coming from Indy. Some on here were saying Sirianni should hire him as DC. So far it's been nothing special. Wouldn't surprise me if he is out during or after the season at the latest. 3
Talonblood Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Hurts gets up to the Steelers game to prove. Gannon gets 5 games this year- and that's TOO many.
SkippyX Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 It was a mistake to keep him. Its not a mistake that should be the reason we sink a possible #1 seed in a soft NFC with a very soft schedule that just got softer with the Cowboys imploding. Gannon should be coaching for his job this week.

Diehardfan Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Nick needs to go as well. Make it a package deal. 1

CouchKing Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 I’ve been saying this forever. Fire Gannon now!
Cochis_Calhoun Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Jesus, could we hold off on the firings until we see where teams are, it's impossible to gauge off one game, for all we know Detroit could go on a tear now and we just beat a contender. Denver with Russell Wilson just lost to a Seattle team that a lot of people think are tanking a season. Green Bay have royally sucked week one for 2 years now and ended up #1 seed last year. Just pump the brakes. 3
time2rock Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 I’d be shocked if Gannon isn’t given at least half if not the full season to get the defense on track. A lot of new faces and little time together during the pre season to build chemistry, work on communication, know what to expect from those around each other, etc. Plus with those new faces you’d have to figure he is trying to implement some new wrinkles that he was unable to last year due to being hamstrung by lack of appropriate personnel. If things still look bad in say week 5 or 6 then I’ll be more concerned/frustrated. Let’s see what they come up with for Minny. 1
dawkins4prez Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Fire Gannon? The same Gannon who was getting HC interviews this offseason? Guys, please, aa lot of defenses looked sloppy in week 1, especially the ones that didn't do any hitting in TC (like the Eagles). They are transitioning to a different defense now it will take a bit to get it down, but this will absolutely be a solid defense this year.

Just pump the brakes. What are you talking about? We are fans dammit! We know way more sitting at home on our couch with beer in our stomachs and grease running down our chins then the guys who get paid and spend eighty hours or more a week on the inside working tirelessly, with endless moving parts to put together a game plan week in and week out. The same guys who are battling other guys on other teams doing the same thing. Just face it, the defense we saw in week one is the absolute best this defense will ever be. That is historically accurate as that is how every single team in the league is. What they are week one is just who they are for the rest of the year.
CouchKing Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Wake up and smell the coffee. We are averaging giving up 35 points per game so far this season. That is not sustainable. Well, it is actually. I am confident that the Eagles can do that again on MNF. But, we probably won't win all these high scoring shootouts..
MF POON Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 I agree with the lack of faith in Gannon, but to be fair, he does need to be allowed at least half the season to prove he can be successful. If it's midseason and he's still allowing QB's to have their best game's of the season against us, fire him.
rrfierce Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 the CB coverage was fine The runs down the middle and missed tackled were not. The lack of pressure and blitzing was not. If he can fix those 2 then we should be ok. Lets not forget the change in players. CGJ only had a couple of weeks of training
