September 14, 20223 yr Didn't Sirianni call him out publically for his **** coaching last year? I don't think Nick would hesitate to cut him loose if he thought he wasn't getting the job done.

September 15, 20223 yr After last week's extremely poor defensive performance do you think it's time to put Gannon in the unemployment line? I think he has to go sooner than later before his so-called schemes lose us an opportunity for the playoffs and beyond.

I wouldn't be upset if he were to go... But it's probably too early in the year to be calling for it.Â
September 16, 20223 yr Watching the chargers to get now, they have a totally new D a bunch of new players in D and they are controlling the chiefs and mahomes. Where as Gannon let's goff and the lions go off in him, and I hear well he has new Ayers and they don't know the scheme blah blah. If the D comes out and gets hammered again by the Vikings Gannons seat should be awful hot. He has a lot better talent than he did last year so there really isn't any excuse. Time to put up or shut up for Gannon.

Haven't been impressed with anything he's done so far. I was excited when he was hired as Schwartz defense was so boring unimaginative and vanilla. Gannon came in talking about multiple fronts and keeping offenses guessing yet he's been probably more conservative than Schwartz. Last year was understandable as he didn't have the pieces to run the D he wanted to. This year he has the pieces and after one game doesn't look like he knows what the heck to do with those pieces I'll give him a few more games to see if he can get the d to gel but after the lions game I'm not hopeful, we'll see.

I'm thinking they haven't notice how often he stands upright when trying to penetrate the OL, when you see a DLman standing upright, he's out of gas, aka, out of shape. Funny thing is, after he was drafted they showed footage of him doing just that while at Georgia. The worst part of it is, he has Cox to show him what being out of gas means, I guess Davis figures if Cox can get away. with it so can I.......Cox's lazy arse sets a horrible for rookies regardless of position.Â

September 16, 20223 yr I still think Gannon's 2021 performance is underrated here. The Eagles were 13th best in the league in net yards per pass (at 6.1), and 6th best in net yards per rush (at 4.0). That's darn good given the talent level of the defense last year. It is certainly true they did not get a lot of sacks, or pressure in general (and hence, few turnovers), and that is frustrating as heck to watch as a fan. Could Gannon have been more creative with blitz schemes? Maybe, but he was dealing with a real lack of talent in the back end.  Last year at this time, Genard Avery, Alex Singleton, Eric Wilson were the starting LBs, and Anthony Harris, Rodney McLeod and Steve Nelson were three of the four starters in the secondary. Blitzing would put those guys on an island, and they are very likely to have been exposed for big plays.
September 17, 20223 yr You just can't beat good QBs playing this way. They'll just keep taking that stuff all the way down the field.

When you give WRs that much of a cushion the QB is going to take the easy completion every time. We saw that QBs get rid of the ball quickly against us but that's because we give them so much opportunity to. We have Slay and Bradberry on the outside... Be positive and be aggressive.Â

Doug won a Super Bowl and didn’t have control over his coaching staff. Heck his DC was hired before he was.
September 19, 20223 yr Coaches are supposed to make players demonstratively better. I don't see any marked improvement across the board. DC's are also supposed to design and call defensive plays to showcase players' strengths, hide weaknesses, and exploit matchups. Gannon does none of those things as far as I can tell. Yeah, it's put up or shut up time. He's got the talent for the defense to be above average and even win a game or two when the offense struggles some. Make it happen or pack your bags is where I think the F.O. should be with regard to him.
