I'll just add you to the people that don't want to have an honest conversation.

It's not that. Go back and read what you wrote. You were complaining about the video I posted, saying it was racist. then when I asked you what was racist about it, you went on to say that people "laugh about it when it's black on white." I have no idea what you're talking about. I posted a video of a black comedian making fun of a black politician. Sure it was edgy and crass but to call it "racist" compared to the crap that gets spewed here on a daily basis is laughable.

I miss simpler times, when McNabb accused TO of black on black crime for saying he'd prefer Favre as a QB.

Nah, blatant racism is everywhere but seemingly people only get upset with it when it's white on black, but laugh about it when it's black on white. Sorry but there is indeed a double standard when it comes to racism that has developed over the last 20ish years. Racism is racism  wrong all the way around. You'll never get rid of racism if it is allowed to continue by any race.

We will never get rid of racism. You can't get rid of the fact that some humans, when given the choice to be decent or be a-holes, will be a-holes and some be proud and actually do their best to show how much bigger of an a-hole they are over all other a-holes.

The problem is not that racism exists. The problem lies in the way the police operate. Like in Buffalo, where an officer pushes a 75 year old man offering no threat to the ground putting him in the hospital.

When the two officers are SUSPENDED. Not fired, not charged, SUSPENDED, 57 other officers resigned in protest. For how UNFAIR it is to suspend a POS for committing a crime.

Like in Philly where a long haired hippie kid in a Maragos jersey, is so threatening, DeSean Jackson tweeted about the poor girl, a cop breaks his head open. Is suspended and it will take 30 days before they can even fire him. Let alone charge him. The police are selling Bologna Strong t-shirts to support thispoor, poor abused officer.

You arm the police like the military. Train them to use these arms and guess what?

They use them. Best of all. TEW and company all this freedom.

You make some good points.  A-holes will be a-holes regardless of race or occupation.  Painting everyone else that happens not to be an a-hole with the same broad brush gives us a lot of our problems I think.

Have we reached the ultimate stage of absurdity where some people ...

I am 100% in support of holding people accountable, right now, for what they say and do. All the time.

It sure as hell seems like I am held accountable for what I say and do. Happy to share that with everyone else. Then again, maybe you all didn't have two wives and two daughters to live with.

Good for you. Since the kids grew up and got lives I can find my tools, or the scotch tape and scissors anytime. They are right where I left them.

All that has nothing to do with the point. You don't even have a chance to get rid of it when the racism is only noticed when whites do it.

BTW  just because you "train them how to use it" doesn't mean they will automatically abuse it. I would say just the opposite. And as long as man kind walks the earth their will be p.o.s. that abuse their power. I do agree though that the penalty for those abuses have to fit the abuse

I disagree. It has been my experience that you give people power, they will use it and protest mightily when you try to remove it. I also think that if black cops were kneeling on white men until they died, you would not see all these people defending the police.

What "power" are you speaking of.

The power of using military weapons and tactics on civillians.

Look at Buffalo. The police push an old man down and put him in the hospital.

They get suspended, not charged.

57 other officers resign in protest because they think they not only should have the power to knock down old people BUT NEED IT TO DO THEIR JOBS.

I disagree. I hope all 59 never work in LE again.

The "power" of using military weapons is given and taken away from military personnel all the time. Besides I don't care what kind of weapons they have, it has nothing to do with the problem. They aren't choking people to death or knocking down old people because they have "military" grade weapons. I already said that their punishment also should match their crime so...............

it sets the tone that using force is not only okay but accepted...like mowing through a group of protesters like a knife through butter.

The military has a different job. I believe you are wrong (can't prove it, so take it for what it is worth) - I think the police being armed and trained like the military makes them respond like the military to ENEMY threats rather than protecting and serving the CITIZENS.

PS - thanks for behaving like a civilized human during a political discussion.

Good, they hadn't last I read an update. They charged Joe Bologna in Philly too. Can't even fire him for 30 days from the suspension date, I think. Union BS
