I'll never forgive Rolen for being an outright liar. He lied to us fans. Said that free agency was very important to him and that he needed the opportunity to experience what it was like to be able to choose where he would play. (Not a direct quote but that's the essence.) So he gets traded to the Cardinals and immediately signs a long term deal there rather than "experiencing free agency", which he claimed was so f'n important to him.

Good player for sure. But far, far from HOF caliber. Plus he was a D, so there's that.

I don't blame him at all - he was playing for a dogshit team in a dogshit stadium.

I wouldn't have stayed here either.

I didn’t mind the leaving, but the lying on the way out the door was distasteful.

What did he lie about?

He didn't want to sign a long term deal and wanted to hit the open market when he was with the Phillies.

They traded him to the team he rooted for when he was a kid, which was less than 2 hours away from his parents house.  Of course he signed a long term deal with them.

I read somewhere that he wanted to return here but it really doesn't matter.

His numbers are not HOF.

He said he wanted to become a free agent. It was very important to him to become a free agent. And then he signed a contract with the Cardinals before becoming a free agent.

He lied.

He lied.

His situation changed and he wound up exactly where he wanted to go.

He didn't want to sign an extension in Philly and wanted to test free agency.

He got traded to his childhood favorite team and decided to stay....

I don't blame him one bit.

I think they should be ahead of LA and Toronto.

I really dislike this rule. Now it’s permanent. Manfred is ruining baseball slowly but surely.

Terrible.   I hate this more than anything.

That’s an oppo boppo of a deal.

Have to say, my disdain for Tmac has substantially reduced ever since Kate Scott was added to the 76ers.

Who is leading candidate for Franzke?
