We have 2 hits, 0 runs and 17 Ks vs. snell and ohtani in 12 combined innings. we didn’t face glasnow or Yamamoto this series (in an Nlds series with the scheduling it’s likely use one of those guys out of the pen)

The dodgers starters have been absolutely ridiculous lately. Their path to a WS is starters like snell, glasnow and Yamamoto go 7 innings holding you to 2 runs or less then pray their BP can get 6 outs.

Would be nice if Walker could start the game without giving up runs in the first inning

Believe that was his fatal flaw when we first got him was always getting shelled in the first.

First was a BS strikeout of Castellanos that ball wasn’t remotely in the zone. Second why the F are we sending Wilson to steal a base

It’s so obvious that when Marsh goes up against a lefty and never swings the bat he can’t see the ball. How many times has he done that this season? It’s pathetic

Besides the HR in the hangover game he’s been even more atrocious vs. LHP since July 1. He still can’t hit lefties and he still strikeouts at a 38% clip. At this point it’s probably safe to say he’s not going to ever hit them the way you want to be an everyday player

Would be a good time for Nick to start getting hot

Casty gets one!

Yea it’s pretty much who he is now and a lot of them look even worse than the at bats previous. I mean he can’t even protect himself at the plate and fight some of those balls off he can’t pick up the release. It’s frustrating because he’s going to have more moments with bases loaded or men on 3rd base in the near future and he gives you little to no hope especially when he won’t swing the bat

Tbh there’s the thought that this year since May 1 is arguably the best he has and might be. Could probably trade him at his peak with 2 years of arbitration remaining and possibly capitalize on his peak value. In 2 years don’t think you are going to want to pay him 13-16 mil and he’s a platoon outfielder

I think they will try to move him

Thomson not removing Walker after he walked Moreno was stupid. He had lost his control to Moreno and really previous batter but Carroll swung at crap. Was clearly he was done at that point. Now having to get banks come in to get an out.

Can use this cause banks saved him

Ok good insurance now don’t waste Duran in a non save situation

So Castellanos is definitely gone after the year.

Yeah, it sounds like irreconcilable differences between Nick and Rob. Don't get me wrong, RT is doing the right thing. Nick is just gonna have to suck it up for the rest of the season and to be fair, he said he is willing to do whatever to help the team. Not sure if anyone has seen it, but Nick was on the Mookie Betts podcast. Definitely a different side of NC than we usually see pre or postgame. It's a good interview. I agree though, Nick is definitely gone after this year unless RT isn't brought back but even then, I still think DD tries to trade him for whatever he can get.

I was reading an article saying how can Nick possibly complain about not being played everyday when he is literally the worse defensive outfielder in the league

It’s not that he’s complaining but more so dissapointed and hurt by not playing everyday. This is a guy who’s never had this happen to him before (being benched) and is used to playing all 162 games. He is trying to adjust and does want to contribute in any way to win this team a championship, that’s his way of going about it now (trying to) but he can’t help himself being dissapointed about the decision. Him and Topper were always not talking even before this happened it’s just who Nick is as a person in general. He’s unique in his own way but with all that said yes I believe it’s his last year with the club as he wants to play for a team who will have him start every game just as he’s accustomed to. I can’t be mad at him for at least helping this team win games any way he can while putting on that Phillies uniform. Don’t feed into the Philly media baiting Nick into drama and separation

Tbh think Nick has been gone since they benched (suspended) him after he was pulled for the game and it came out it was something Thomson didn’t like that he said. I think they would’ve dealt him at the deadline if their outfield was playing better but since they weren’t they kept him cause at that point he was still a better option than what they had with Kepler being full time. I’d be surprised if he were here in 2026. Starting outfield is like Crawford, Marsh and hopefully bader

Media is going to ask him these questions after a good game as more realistic chance he’d answer. He's very unlikely to talk after a bad game or being benched. I compare it to asking your parent as a kid for something. Not going to ask them when they are having a bad day or you did something wrong. Gonna ask them when having a good day or you did something good as they are more likely to say yes

Nick thinks he's better than he is and honestly has shown he's a bit immature and whiny.

Article kind of puts it into perspective about how he’s handled the situation and also is basically finding ways to throw Thomson under the bus. Good job by sanfilippo to get some behind the scenes stuff with Castellanos
