Kepler and/or Rojas and two mid tier prospects should do it?

I’m guessing they’d want Rojas out of those two. Cheap and controllable for a few more years.

No thanks on nootbarr. Burleson is good but a LH. Donovan would be a nice pickup as he can play like 5 positions.

Padres bullpen is stacked

Mason Miller to Padres.

I wouldn’t have given all that up for Mason Miller. But the difference is Mason Miller is controllable for the next 4 1/2 years.

Sources: The Phillies' next trade target

The Phillies took their biggest swing about 24 hours before Thursday's deadline, but they continue to canvass sellers for potential outfield upgrades — big and small. They would prefer to add a right-handed bat to the mix. They have interest in Alex Call, a 30-year-old outfielder with the Washington Nationals, multiple major-league sources said.

Call, as a part-time player, has hit .274/.371/.386 in 237 plate appearances this season. He's done well against lefties, which is why the Phillies are targeting him. Call has an .802 OPS vs. lefties in 2025. He can play all three outfield positions.

If the Phillies choose a marginal upgrade in the outfield, they could pair it with an internal move by promoting Justin Crawford to the majors. Crawford could have arrived earlier this month, but the Phillies want him to play every day if he's in the majors, so they have waited to see how the deadline unfolds.

The Phillies continue to engage the Chicago White Sox on Luis Robert Jr. and the Cleveland Guardians on Steven Kwan, sources said, but after unloading two of their better prospects to acquire Jhoan Duran, they could take a more measured approach Thursday.

He's not having a good year. I think he's a Tommy John waiting to happen

I’d have to look into a splits, but I also think playing in that minor league Park has hurt some of the pitchers on the athletics. Been multiple athletic pitchers who discussed it. Frankly i think dealing a top 5 prospect in all of baseball is ridiculous unless you are getting a front of the rotation guy or an everyday hitter that’s an all star or entering into his prime

If that’s the asking price for Kwan it’s not happening.

From Matt gelb… so basically hays 2.0

Seeing names like Call, etc give me Hays vibes and makes me more willing to take a shot on Robert Jr upside if those are the only options.

Would love Kwan but that’s not happening looking at what they asked for from Padres.

Call reminds me of hays and Castro that came before him. The annual addition of a RH bat that’s clearly not good enough to help this lineup get to where they want to go.

i was holding out for kwan, but yeah, the asking price seems way too high.
