Man if we can get Stott and marsh to be solid at the bottom of the lineup it makes them so much better.

Who the hell is this Marsh guy? You’re telling me he’s good now just to suck again when it matters or is this for real?

He’s hit RHP well. That’s never been his issue it’s always been he can’t hit LHP. Got a double there but really Garcia had it hit his glove. It should’ve been caught.

I forgot he doesn’t face LHP often and when he does he’s terrible so nvm he’s not that good

His stats are really deceiving because he’s been really good against right handed pitching. But then you look against left-handed pitching and he’s just been bad and his strikeout rate is close to 40%. I think they’ll pick and choose when to hit him against left-handed pitching. Like tonight it was the fifth inning and there was only a runner at first. I believe that there was a runner at second and third later in the game he isn’t hitting.

My personal belief is they finally figured out he’s not gonna hit left-handed pitching so they’re gonna really limit him. And I think what happens when he faces left handed pitching more often is he’s not good at it and Ks a lot. And then it hurts his confidence and he carries that over against right handed pitchers. And then he goes into a slump.

For instance since July 1 his slashes against LHP are (including tonight): .150/.150/.200/.350

Marsh will let you down in the end, Kepler sucks

Someone needs to tell trea he always plays on the road so he can hit a homer at home

Well this game is over now

Put in Romano to get Duran the save

I’m curious how many runs per 9 the Phillies are averaging in the bottom of the 8th or top of the 9th while Duran is warming up to come into the game. It seems like that’s when their offense is at its best.

Turner’s first 5 rbi game as a Phillie

Also our first win in the last 11 tries in Arlington

Bats picking up now and we can definitely hope for both Casty and Bryce to get hot as we move into late August. Right now, it feels like the 4th and 5th starters are the current concerns. Long term the bats will be the part we will feel worried about as the post season starts.

That would be epic if we turned into the best bullpen in the postseason.

Would be real nice if we had Alvarado, Kerk, Robertson, Strahm and Duran

Get the feeling this is not going to go over well with Castellanos

I don't blame him, WTF is Kelper still doing her and why is he in RF

The issue with this comp is that victorino became an everyday player and not a platoon. He hit LHP and RHP. Marsh is still in his fifth season and can’t consistently hit LHP at a league avg level.

Thru their first 324 games with the Phillies:

Victorino:

Vs. RHP: .285/.345/.399/.754

Vs. LHP: .293/.360/.490/.850

Marsh:

Vs. RHP: .277/.357/.464/.821

Vs. LHP: .214/.286/.331/.617

In 5th season in MLB splits:

Victorino (08):

Vs. RHP: .298/.355/.407/.762

Vs. LHP: .282/345/.537/.882

Marsh (2025):

Vs. LHP: .216/.298/.294/.592

Vs. RHP: .294/.360/.468/.828

Cause Castellanos has been in a slump particularly Vs RHP since July 1. But yeah it’s not like Kepler has been remotely better

Nick Castellanos vs RHP since July 1

.210/.229/.296 with 2 HRs

Luzardo off to a great start

Might not score tonight. Scored 9 last night and degrom is on the mound for them

If Kepler keeps this up, he'll be hitting over .210 by the end August... look out

I give him credit. His last 5 at bats (going back to his final 2 last night), he’s hit the ball well and taking pitches.

Rob Thomson is a genius
