I rather him not put more innings on when we don’t need him too especially when you likely overuse him during the playoffs
August 16Aug 16 The fact he was carted off is not good. Hoping for a bone bruise and 2-3 weeks off. But have a feeling it’s broken and if doesn’t need surgery it’s 6-8 weeks minimum.

August 16Aug 16 At this point there’s no reason not to bring up Crawford and let him play everyday. As long as he doesn’t get 130 ABs he is going to be a rookie next year. With Castellanos being awful for over a month and a half now can platoon him with Kepler and already platooning marsh with bader. Leaves one spot where he can be an everyday player

Can’t imagine topper platooning 4 veterans and then trotting a new rookie out there every single night.

Kepler is platooning with Castellanos. And marsh has been with bader. Only difference is they are also inserting Weston Wilson into this. Instead of platooning Wilson into this it’ll just be Crawford playing everyday. Right now none of their outfielders are playing everyday as they’ve gone to a platoon with Kepler and Castellanos. Today is one of the first times bader and marsh both started together. Tomorrow marsh and Kepler are going to sit cause it’s a LHP. Unless they decide to just play bader everyday or marsh (unlikely as since he got here they haven’t and since marsh called back up refusing to let him consistently hit vs. LHP) then you could have Crawford play everyday then go bader/marsh and Kepler/Castellanos platoon like they have.Also time to do it is now cause we have a bunch of bad teams on the schedule besides the mariners til the end of the month (including Mets who’ve been awful) and he’s going to maintain his rookie eligibility. Also brought up rojas in 2023 in July and played him everyday. So i tend to think Thomson would be fine with it. Imo this is more on Dombrowski
August 16Aug 16 Nola and Bohm back tomorrow meaning 2 guys getting moved down. I’d guess lazar as they won’t admit the failure of Romano. On offense I’d bet it’s kemp as Wilson has hit well since called up. Then Tuesday Alvarado is eligible to come back. I wouldn’t be shocked if Ranger is bad Monday that he winds up on IL with Nola back.
