No outs with those two makes no sense and he’s fast enough to get home on a single. So no need to steal 3rd
August 16Aug 16 Just now, John Blutarski said:Kepler FN sucksGood thing we have Crawford wasting away in triple A right now so that we can have the crap platoon of Kepler and Castellanos
August 16Aug 16 Kepler ground into double play when all he needed was a basic sac fly. Tired of this Fn turd. Unfortunately he's untouchable just like Fn Romano because DD is a stubborn idiot
August 16Aug 16 Well depending on how long cavalli stays in the game that 2 runs is huge. need to get to the nationals bullpen cause they stink and we actually have a shot against them
August 16Aug 16 It's hard to listen to Amaro talking up Romano like he's actually been decent. He's terrible.
August 16Aug 16 Lmao this offense is about to get shutout by the worst if not the worst pitching staff one of the worst in baseball…

August 17Aug 17 Goes without saying that the most important thing is Wheeler ends up ok, blood clots are serious and I know people personally who've dealt with them for years. From a baseball perspective the hardest way this impacts the Phillies isn't necessarily on the field. Losing Wheeler is huge. Where it hurts them most is when the Phillies go one and done(which they would have done with Wheeler anyway, this team isn't winning a playoff series) it will give Dave Dombrowski the excuse he needs to have another season to run this organization into the ground. He's set this team up so poorly for the future and unless Middleton is willing to not only spend the money it takes to re-sign Schwarber, but also go out and add a Kyle Tucker on top of it, then this team is beyond F'd. I don't see any realistic way they can improve for next season without overspending because their airhead GM has jacked up the pay roll with terrible contracts and gave them no diamonds in the rough who can fill in.Look at the upcoming free agent class. There are very few outfield bats on that list worth much. The Phillies don't have a ton to trade after giving up some top guys for Duran. And no one in their farm system is ready except the overrated Crawford who is a slap hitter with no power. A guy they think so little of, they won't bring up to the majors with the worst outfield in baseball.Dave Dombrowski is nightmare, and the longer he's here, the worse he will get. And now he will have a ready made excuse if they get bounced early again. Remember that press conference last year where he sat there with a straight face and made excuse after excuse for the offense, basically telling us everything is fine and they are actually better than their stats showed? This year's will make that one look sane by comparison. "I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses, but when you're a club built around pitching and you lose maybe the best starter in baseball, then..." after they lose an elimination game 3-0 because they can't hit... and Middleton will be sitting there J'ing his D to it, because he believes Dombrowski can do no wrong.Had to rant about this, been holding it in for a while. It's been years since this city has had a GM that I've hated as much as Dombrowski.
August 17Aug 17 The fact Crawford is still in triple A raking for months while this team’s offense is super inconsistent is amazing
August 17Aug 17 So the most important thing about blood clots is where they are. Deep vein thrombosis is a fairly big deal. That means it’s in a large vein with an easy return course to the heart. That also means you need to go on blood thinners for a period of time. And that’s not really something compatible with professional sports. That’s one extreme. The other extreme is a thrombophlebitis where a tiny little peripheral blood vessel collapses or clots off. It can cause some discomfort or even some substantial pain, but it’s structurally irrelevant. What Wheeler has is most likely much closer to the 2nd option, especially if they are saying it could have been worse and it’s 15 day IL. He’d have no reason to have a deep vein thrombosis.

I’m not optimistic based off watching Dombrowski talk about it and saying need more tests to determine what direction they want to go. Feels like if it were lesser they’d have come out more optimistic.
August 17Aug 17 FYI..... This was from before the game on Saturday. People were shitting on Thomson for pitching Duran
