The biggest difference is they’re playing as a team. Everybody is contributing and playing for eachother instead of relying on your big bats to do something to get going. It’s next man up mentality and the energy is good.

They needed something to shock their system. Cause they were playing mediocre baseball for 70+ games from that Braves double header at the end of May. I love wheeler and I’d rather have him than not. Add on him not going through something like he is which could be life threatening is scary and no one needs that. That said i feel like his injury made them look in the mirror and realize he can’t carry them in a game or two in the postseason where they dont do anything. Everyone needed to step up

So my wife is dragging me to todays game. Normally I wouldn't mind attending a Phillies game in nice weather but......it's a 1:30pm start. We are in Central NJ so probably leave the house 11:30'ish. Let's assume 90 minutes to get home......and this is a work event for her so I can't leave after 1st inning! So.....is an hour and a half enough face time to get on the road by 3 to get home by 4:30'ish (might miss a little of the beginning of the game) for the Eagles.

Idk but you potentially get to see them clinch the division. Would be only the 13th time they won the NL east in their history. So you are getting a chance to witness history

True...and I get that...but then, do we go from game to like Chickie and Petes or Xfinity Live and watch the Eagles there? PS....used to be a blind drunk, gave up drinking 20 years ago so while I don't mind going to bars, I can only handle being around drunkin' idiots for so long. And if the game ends by 8......get home by 9:30 or so?

Additionally, the Division Title is nice but it's a given.....I think we can ALL agree they need to win the whole f'ing thing or really this season and run will be nothing more than a nice time instead of a Championship.

Or the other option is stay to watch them lock up/win the division and then listen to first half on the radio driving home..........

Sometimes radio is a welcome change..... half the game you don't have to listen to the same stupid commercials ? Limu Emu ? Progressive ? Always a plus.

PS....no matter what happens today, going to LA 3-0 they lock in the #2 seed at a minimum, 2-1 #2 seed almost a given, 1-2 work to be done to get the 2 seed and 0-3....butt puckering time.

Worst-case scenario (a Phillies loss and Dodgers win today), they would be going into the series up 4.5 with 12 to play.

So, they would be 7.5, 5.5, 3.5, or 1.5 up with 9 to play, depending on the results of the Dodgers series. Basically, as long as they win 1, they are in pretty good shape (although I never trust them to win games in Arizona). A win and a Dodgers loss today would be awesome...

He can be a useful player if he's Barry Bonds against 75% of the pitchers in MLB. Especially if he could bring himself up to the level of Mario Mendoza against the other 25%.
