I think because he finished the inning in the sixth they could’ve removed him and put in another right handed pitcher. But the problem is your other right handed pitchers all stink. Kerkering has been one of the worst relievers since the beginning of August. Robertson just isn’t good enough. He’s a second tier reliever that you’re asking to be a top-tier reliever because Kerkering decided he was gonna beat Crap the last third of the season. So you were either gonna have to use Duran way too early which makes it an issue when you get to the ninth period or you were gonna have to go , Nola and hope nola could give you one inning in that spot. Which he is really never been a bullpen guy.

Thomson deserves blame cause I’d have not gone back to Robertson. But the bigger issue here is Dave built a **** bullpen that has Duran and banks who you trust

Yeah, RT could have removed Robertson after the bottom of the inning, but Thomson being Thomson, he didn't. I understand Kerkering's problems, but I would have taken the chance.

So you’re throwing him into a high leverage situation as a reliever that he’s not been in before. asking him to do it in a year where he’s been pretty bad for most of it. If they would’ve used him out of the bullpen down the stretch which they probably should’ve done the last month knowing he wasn’t gonna be at the starter it would’ve made a lot more sense.

Even if he does that and nola implodes people will then say Thomson knows nola hasn’t been good this year. Why use him in that spot out of the BP when he’s also never done it. It was a lose lose situation unless Robertson came through or if you use Kirking and Kerkering came through. The bigger issue here is Dombrowski built a **** bullpen that has Duran, banks as it’s two best relievers and strahm who no offense hasn’t been as good as what he was the last two years.

Kerk tends to pitch that way when the game isn’t on his shoulders. When he’s asked to keep a lead he gets in his head and can’t throw a strike
