End of a disappointing era where all big $ guys disappeared when you needed them like clockwork.

Yesterday at 01:59 PM1 day 2 hours ago, NYEagle said:This team is really just soooooo disappointing........they are definitely the Sixers and not the Eagles. They’ve always been closer to the Sixers than the Eagles. That said this is the first time since that Astros World Series match where I’ve felt they weren’t the better roster. The Dodgers have a superior roster. Their starting rotation is flat out better. When you can go Ohtani, snell Yamamoto and still have glasnow as your 4th that’s pretty ridiculous. If wheeler was healthy i think the Phillies are right there but he’s not. Add on if Nola didn’t suck this year they are likely even better than the dodgers. But those two things happened this year.Their lineup is better at the top an has more depth with guys who have had proven playoff success. When you have 3 MVPs hitting 1,2 and cleanup with Hernandez who has the last two years been good in the playoffs it’s better than Turner, schwarber, Harper and the hole at cleanup. Really can be 1-5 if will smith didn’t break his hand at the beginning of the month. Add on pages their 8 hole hitter had 25+ HRs and is developing into one of the better CF in the NL. Also with their tremendous 1-5 and pages they have guys like edman, kiké and muncy who are professional hitters. Phillies have guys like marsh who can’t hit LHP after 5 years, Bohm who’s a headcase, Kepler who had similar numbers to Kody Clemens, Castellanos who’s a completely flawed player and realmuto who’s at the end not the beginning. Stott is also an issue but as a 9 hole hitter he’s fine. Dodgers lineup also isn’t finishing 28th on chase rate. Which allows pitchers to just simply not throw strikes to Phillies hitters. Why Phillies are 30th on strikes seen. They grind at bats even when down. Phillies simply are inconsistent at this and why long deserves to be canned.Phillies bullpen overall is likely better but even so it’s still not very good. Duran is good. Strahm is solid. Banks is also solid. But the fact Robertson is our second best RHP cause headcase Kerkering has been bad second half is an issue. It’s not good enough. With nlds schedule the way it is dodgers bullpen gets better with glasnow, kershaw and Sheehan added. Along with sasaki finding his role as their closer.
Yesterday at 02:12 PM1 day The Dodgers rotation is not better. Ohtani isn't anything special as a starter, Snell stinks... ERA in the playoffs is over 5.5 he chokes in big games and he was a disaster last season his ERA was like 10. Yamamoto I'm not a fan of either I just don't think he's very good, and Glasnow is a guy. They don't have a single ace on that roster. I'll take 4 Phillies starters over anyone the Dodgers have in their rotation. Don't be a sheep and buy into the media's shill job.

Gave up 3 runs and one run was straight up on Hernandez screwing him fielding the ball. His playoff era is 4.50 as last night was his only time pitching in the playoffs. So over 5.50, in what marvel universe are you living in cause he never pitched in the postseason for the angels. And he didn’t pitch last year for the dodgers Also, Ohtani NEVER pitched last year so saying he had a 10 ERA last year is wrong. so making up BS stats again is hilarious. Ohtani eras from 2018-2025 when he’s thrown more than 1.2 Innings like during Covid season: 3.31, 3.18, 2.33, 3.14, 2.87. Yup really see that 10 era last year when he didn’t even pitch. Again you making crap up isn’t stats.Yamamoto had a 2.49 era which is better than Sanchez. Yamamoto is legit. Since July 1 has a 2.36 era. In September he had a 0.67 ERA. He gave up 7 hits and 2 ERs all month in 27 innings. Thats just below wheeler type crap. They also have Blake snell. He’s won 2 cy young’s and pitching some of the best baseball of his career down the stretch. Last 8 starts has a 2.09 era. If you include his playoff start it’s below 2. He’s a legitimate ace when he’s healthy. Don’t win 2 era championships and 2 cy young’s without being an ace.As for glasnow he’s their 4th starter. Hes better than anyone the Phillies could use as their 4th starter. On most teams in baseball he’s their no. 2 at worse.so yes without wheeler the dodgers rotation has more depth and has been pitching lights out for 2 months now. Phillies have the second best rotation. It’s ok to admit the dodgers are a better team. They should be they have spent the money and put 500+ million on deferred payments to do so

Stop slurping the Dodgers, and have some self respect. You're a Phillies fan. This is a pathetic display. You're just making up a bunch of crap.I didn't say Ohtani had an ERA over 10. Snell did last year. That's a fact. He missed a big chunk of the season, but still. He was awful last year. And the guy is about as bad of a big game pitcher as you'll find. His postseason ERA is over 5.5. He is a notorious choker, that's just a fact.Yamamoto has mediocre stuff. Just more media propaganda pumping him up purely because he plays for LA. What a shock.Glasnow is a guy. You've been completely brainwashed by media narratives and it's sad to see. But no surprise, that's why they do it. They pound these takes into everyone's heads and get them to believe it themselves. There's a reason the Dodgers didn't have one of the 3 best records in the NL. Overrated roster.

Overrated roster.Oh, I’m sorry I don’t suck the dick of the Phillies and pretend that nobody else in baseball is good. I actually watched baseball outside of the Phillies. I know you make up crap about New York and LA because you’ve started that argument with me before. Which is delusional cause you use your "sources”. You make up crap about Boston, by and La. Just because you don’t appreciate other teams being good it’s not my fault. I watch enough baseball besides the Phillies. the Fing Dodgers are very Fing good. I told you this a month ago that their starting rotation has gotten healthier and started pitching like an elite rotation. Which they hav. Just because you don’t appreciate other teams being good it’s not my fault. I watch enough baseball besides the Phillies to know the Fing Dodgers are very Fing good. they are getting healthier and since and seen their numbers for their rotation become the best in baseball over that time. They have the lowest era of any team in baseball by a good half a run since the beginning of September. Phillies were the team in 2nd and they were closer to the 3-5 then the dodgers. Snell, Yamamoto an Ohtani have been lights out in most of September.Blake snell career playoff era: 3.23Blake snell era in 2024: 3.12Blake snell playoff stats in 2024: didn’t pitchBlake snell era by season since 2022: 3.38, 2.25, 3.12 and 2.35so you are completely FULL of crap about snell and his 10 ERA last year lolAlso dodgers finished withb3rd best record in the NL so they did finish top 3 lol lol snell wins two cy young’s apparently is bad . Meanwhile you have told us nola is amazing meanwhile has had 2 of 3 years not being great and Nola’s playoff era is 4+ and 2 of the last 3 postseasons it’s been 4.91 and 7.21.Yup Yamamoto propaganda… guy has pitched to a 2.36 era last 3 months, last 2 months 2.200, last month gave up 2 ERs in 27 (0.67 era in September) and a 2.49 era overall for the year. Couldn’t possibly just be good. Pure propaganda. Oh wait this is your bs NY and LA inflated stats tin foil hat theory you always come up with.If glasnow is just a guy that means Luzardo is a JAG based off the last 5 years. Who’d both are not true. glasnow isn’t an ace but he’s a no. 2 on most mlb rosters and dodgers have the luxury to have him as their 4th starter. Phillies current 4th is Nola with a 6.02 era or Taijuan Walker. Dodgers not finishing top 3 doesn’t matter to them. Regular season for them is preparing themselves to be ready for postseason. Which you could see their rotation doing down the stretch when they’ve been the healthiest they’ve been all year. Heck they are good enough where will smith one of the best offensive catchers in the game didn’t even play the entire game and they have muncy able to come off their bench (he’s not great but pretty damn good bench bat when you need it. He’s not Weston Wilson). They manage their team to go into the postseason as fresh as possible and healthy as possible. Please do us a favor and stop posting on this thread when you have not even been here all year. Especially if you are going to post incorrect BS data made up in your head. your point on Blake snell having a 10 era last year was still proven wrong. Along with the fact his playoff era is 3.23 so he hasn’t been as bad as nola. The Dodgers are a very good team. They finished with the third best record in the NL because in the middle of the year their staff had a ton of guys hurt and guys on IL. But they knew they were gonna get them all back for October along with Ohtani beginning to pitch again. Brewers have the best regular season record, doesn’t mean crap in the postseason as i don’t believe they have a better roster than Phillies or dodgers.Yup its all the media brainwashing as to why the dodgers won the World Series last year, have 3 MVPs in their lineup, have one of the best rotations in baseball, one best players of his generation, won their division 12 of last 13 years.
Yesterday at 04:20 PM1 day Kind of feels like Thomson thought Castellanos would come through and believed it would give him confidence to do it. That bader’s injury is either just wear and tear of season or minuscule

3 hours ago3 hr IF... repeat.... IF they somehow manage to do well, great... but the management needs to realize that this group of guys were just plain fortunate..... not mad skills...... and rip this roster up. If they crash and burn this week, I hope the only ones left on the MLB roster are under 24..... and even then I would still rather everyone get unloaded.
33 minutes ago33 min 8 minutes ago, Blazehound said:Gross. We are going to get smoked.Tbh with how we looked like against snell in LA probably likely. However snell at home has a 1.17 era and on the road 4.30. I’m surprised they didn’t go Yamamoto. His splits aren’t as drastic and he’s better on the road. 3.04 at home and 2.13 on the road.
