And now it’s gonna be another too little too late - Phillies will say we have something to build on and they MIGHT eek out a win in LA

I don’t understand why you bunt to third there. A lefty bunting to first gets the runner over easy

Edit I guess I didn’t see how close freeman was idk. Just surprised to bunt it to third with muncy on top of him

I don’t hate the bunt call honestly the dodgers just played it perfectly

Then pull the slowest man on earth for a pitch runner

Such a Philly way to lose

Leave Harper and Schwarber in Philly and they might stand a chance in LA

Leave Robby T at home and they probably will

Bunting took all the momentum away. Make their terrible bullpen get an out instead of gifting them one.

Maybe some of the young guys will be ready next year - this team needs some fresh blood

The Phillies are full of so many guys with loser stuff. Including the manager. They shrink so Fing much some the postseason. Hopefully that bum of a GM who's halfway into retirement actually has the energy to take off the depends and do something in the offseason to legitimately improve the club.

Dodgers understand their strengths and weaknesses much better than the Phillies

Whichever manager loses this series should be fired. Roberts is a moron and Thomson says hey let me help you out

Bunting against a good bullpen makes sense. Like the Brewers have a good bullpen. So you would understand bunting there to get the runner over to third so that you could have a sac fly or a single and still tied the game. However, against the Dodgers, who can’t get out with their bullpen you do not want to give them easy out. Make them earn it. Add on because Bryson Stott is a contact hitter, there is a very good chance that he hit the runner over the third anyways. So you might as well let him swing through because he doesn’t strike out as often.

Lmao

No real point to resigning Ranger. You’re going to give a ton of money to a guy who won’t even pitch in the NLDS?

They're tired of losing close games, they wanna get blown out

I'm fine with Nola pitching Game 3.

I tend to believe that this is probably gonna be a piggyback situation. try to get nola to go three innings. And then go Ranger to try to get you four or five. If you somehow managed to survive, then you have Christopher Sanchez for game four.

That said I would’ve flipped Suarez and Nola. But I’m guessing their theory is that Ranger has come out of the bullpen whereas Aaron Nola has not.

Yeah at least we’ll know early on that the game is over - should be done by the 3rd or 4th inning

I have a theory on why they aren’t using him. his numbers against the Dodgers are not great. But that’s less so. I think he’s gassed. If you go and watch his last three starts, they were not nearly as good as that stretch where he looked like a cy young early in the season and then he regained that same stretch again. His last three games he was very hittable and he was missing his spots. Giving up . I think they’re trying to give 7,8,9 hits. I believe they are giving him as much time off in hopes that his arm and his control will be better by doing so. Hoping 2 weeks fixes him. I bet at the end of this series they’re going to say something along those lines
