So when all those categories, the only one the Phillies are better at is average (it’s an .005 difference. So smallest margin of any category besides OBP). Everything else the Phillies are worse. You can’t tell me the Phillies have a better lineup than them when statistically they are worse in every single area besides average, which now in baseball is considered overrated.

This is like the Phillies are terrible compared to the Dodgers. No the Phillies are comparable and arguably the second best lineup in the NL behind the dodgers. they are a top five or six hitting team in baseball. The difference is the Dodgers are a top 3 hitting team in baseball and they’re not three. they’re probably closer to two or one.

I’m not gonna go into pitching but if you listen to Anthony dabundo on the Philly special talk about the starting pitching rotations and the analytics involved. With Zach Wheeler, the Phillies are better than the Dodgers. When you take Zach Wheeler out of it, the analytics point to the dodgers. It’s close like closer than the lineup argument. But without Wheeler, it is a massive hit especially cause game 1 luzardo could’ve been used out of the pen knowing it was Sanchez game 2. That’s another hit by losing wheeler

Anyway you want to slice it, we are going to lose because we are mentally weak. The Dodgers admitted in their post game interviews that they are surprised they are up 2-0 in Citizen Bank.

The only one I could understand not hitting well, is Turner. I thought it was incredibly stupid that they didn’t bring him back at the start of the last week of the season. Even if he was running 50%. Just tell him not to run hard when he makes contact. He needed the play. He needed to see live pitching. He literally had two ABs for an entire month before playing the Dodgers. You set him up to fail by not giving him four or five games before the playoffs to get himself going again.

Also, the Dodgers surprised that they’re up 2-0. No crap. Any team going into Philadelphia would be surprised to win both games in Philadelphia. Be same response from a team if they went into LA and did the same lol

My dude, I know your whole life consists of typing posts that are 1000 pages long. Unfortunately, I have a life outside of this, so yeah, I didn't watch Dodgers regular season.

The bottom line is, as evenly matched as these teams were, we lost because we turtled. The top guys didn't hit when they needed to. At minimum, this series should be tied 1-1 going into game 3. This Dodgers line is not this feared line up that you cannot beat. We beat ourselves, that is quite obvious.

I would add not beating yourself is a massive thing in playoff baseball. It’s what’s made the Dodgers so good last year in the playoffs and this year. bad with previous iterations of their team. The Phillies even went to the World Series found ways to beat themselves in some of those games. They survived some of them. Like against Atlanta where Hoskins blew a game. That’s part of the make up of the Phillies

No, I just have multiple friends that worked in front offices and multiple guys who played in the Major leagues. Another who was a catcher in the Phillies minor league system for 3 years. I know your info coming out of your ass like the Dodgers lineup is not better than the Phillies then get proven wrong and being a dope is not very good Fing Intel.

They also get paid to play and they are one of the best team at capitalizing in your mistakes. That is part of the reason they won a WS and very well go back to back. Meanwhile Roberts nearly also did that last night for the dodgers. acting like dodgers didn’t also try to give that game away in the 9th. So dodgers didn’t nearly beat themselves in that 9th with bad decisions or Betts forgetting how many outs there was? That’s part of playoff baseball. It is why a throw home (which Turner admitted wasn’t thrown where or how it should’ve been) is critical to winning games and having good base running fundamentals which has been discussed for 6-7 years now is important.
