October 10, 2025Oct 10 I’m fine if they fired Thomson, but the reason why Sanchez went back out there is because if you use Duran to start the 7th inning he’s likely out of gas by the ninth inning. imo and I’ve said this for a while there is nobody in that bullpen that you remotely trust to get 3 outs to get to Duran for the eighth and the ninth. Why Sanchez was back out there.That said I dislike walking Ohtani in that situation. If he had been hitting well this entire series, I’d understand it. But since he’s not a Mookie Betts has been hitting well that’s why I don’t intentionally walk him. Granted Ohtani has good numbers against Duran.

There’s nobody in that bullpen that you trust to get out besides Duran. Strahm in previous years you would, but he hasn’t been as good this series and not as dominant as years past. And everybody else has either been bad the last couple weeks or Tanner Banks, who’s not good against right handers.
