October 10, 2025Oct 10 Topper saying he’s proud of the team. Glad they all supported kerkering in his gigantic error. Man I’ll tell you I’m jsut so glad these guys like eachother, worth so much more than a World Series.

I do hate him. That is his damn job as a MLB pitcher. He lost them the game. Simple play to first.

They needed to score in the 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11th innings. They didn't and eventually the Dodgers got another run across.

They didn't and eventually the Dodgers got another run across. There’s a couple reasons for their offense being what it is. First, they should’ve fired Kevin Long last year when they had issues. Like there’s accountability of the players, but when you have literally the same problems almost every single year, then at some point in time you can’t just unload every player but you can fire the hitting coach to send a message. Furthermore Bryson Stott was bad in 2024. And then he didn’t start the season off well for four months. It took him a season and 4 months of another to fix it. Marsh still can’t hit lefties after working with long for 3.5 years. And guys have bad approaches at the plate. What does he do to help them get better? I’d argue nothingSecondly, you’re starting to see Bryce Harper decline. We knew this was gonna happen on the backside of that contract. Now he’s not completely useless but he can’t carry them anymore. Frankly schwarber at his age is likely not able to either. He can for a game or two but not through an entire postseason. I think he got worn down in September and into the playoffs. They really need to add another big time bat.Third Dombrowski has wasted a ton of money. It is a major reason the Phillies aren’t a better team in October/postseason. They have money invested in guys who aren’t contributing in the playoffs and all that money could be 3-5 better players that gets this team over the top. Instead it’s Castellanos for $20 mil, Walker for $18 mil, Romano for $10 mil, Ross for $4 mil, Nola for $24 mil and Kepler for $10 mil. Legit none of these guys are worth what they are being paid. That’s $86 mil on guys who aren’t worth their contracts. No offense to Nola but part of the reason the Phillies didn’t have Ranger available tonight is because Nola was only trusted to go through the lineup once. That’s ridiculous for a guy getting paid $25 mil
October 10, 2025Oct 10 lol F that umpire. I’d have been like dbag you cost us our season cause you Fing suck at your job

The fact that the Phillies got to the Dodgers bullpen and yet still couldn’t score was a problem. Like I like sasaki, but him going three innings and giving up zero hits is ridiculous. He’s not that good.
October 10, 2025Oct 10 Phils lose, Eagles lose. As I said on Tuesday, it's a tough week to be a Philly sports fan

They didn't and eventually the Dodgers got another run across. This is exactly it. You're facing elimination on the road; you're going to get walked off very soon. The offense has to have urgency to get a run across -- milk a walk, lean into a pitch, slap the ball into play. If you can't play small ball you're not going to win in the playoffs. The Phillies are not built for the playoffs.
October 10, 2025Oct 10 The Phillies once again lose a playoff series because of the offense disappearing and the bullpen choking and Dave Dombrowski in the offseason had a plan to address these issues by signing Max Kepler and Jordan Romano. That is a fireable offense. Everyone knew those were the issues of this team and he addressed it in a totally unserious way. That will stick with me more than anything from the NLDS itself...that this series was lost in the offseason. They better give us an offseason to be excited about or it's going to be hard to care about the team going into next season. And it's time to change the coaching staff because they didn't make a single change from that coaching staff. Imagine embarrassing yourself against the Mets, running it back with the roster AND the coaching staff. Utter arrogance from the top brass.
October 10, 2025Oct 10 IMO there's no way Middleton can let DD continue with the same staff and the same roster with minor tweaks even though DD probably already has the excuses lined up as to why they should do just that. I could see Middleton giving DD one more offseason unfortunately. Just hoping for at least: punt Thomson & Long, trade Kerkering, Castellanos, Walker, Marsh, Bohm; re-sign Schwarber (mainly because we heard this was already a strong possibility so I'll take it) and also a cleanup hitter (less likely if Schwarber signs but also still necessary) and JT, bring up Crawford, sign some bullpen guys that aren't a complete gamble and waste of money like Romano and Ross. Just initial thoughts.

He took over the worst bullpen in history.I agree with your assessment that we didn't do enough last offseason.I'm okay with trading players. Wanna keep Bohm for now. Might add trading Stott and declining club option on Alvarado to your list.I liked our trade deadline pickups: Duran and Bader. and Luzardo last offseason. Need more of that caliber. We are short on outfield bats. Need to replace Kepler, Marsh, Castellanos. Not sure Crawford comes up next year. Not for Opening Day.
