For one I can't believe they are making zero coaching changes... at minimum please try someone besides Kevin Fng Long. Second running it back is not good enough, DD is delusional. If they want to run it back you need a cleanup hitter in addition to bringing back Schwarber. I'm starting to hate the sound of DDs smug voice. Guy always has an excuse and this year its just the Dodgers pitching was better. Refuses to include/address his own roster issues.

Why I’ve said the bigger issue is Dombrowski. He has no accountability for his mistakes and uses excuses to justify the team and his failures. It’s why i don’t care if they fire Thomson or not. Gonna be stuck with the architect that keeps building poorly and hopes eventually it’ll pay off

Give credit to kemp that’s a tough SOB

Pretty impressive they were bad at home but then go into one of the hardest parks to hit at and have been raking.

They’ll have a shot at getting to the World Series for a while cause the American League is wide open. I believe the 3 best teams are in the NL.

Jays have been doing everything they can to be competitive I'm glad it's finally paying off

Maybe we can get rid of Turner and sign Bichette

Bowden talked about bichette moving to 3B and then trading Bohm

Phillies really shouldn’t go after Bregman. That feels like a bad contract waiting to happen. He was awesome before his injury this year. He’s going to be 32 next year. After his injury he was actually worse than Bohm.

Before injury:

.299/.385/.553/.938 11 HRs and 35 RBI (51 games)

After injury:

.250/.338/.386/.724 7 HRs and 27 RBI (63 games)

If you are going to sign a RH hitter for the money then might as well say F it go Alonso. Move harper back to RF with schwarber at DH and Alonso at 1b

I could get behind that

Alonso is a player Bryce would move to RF for. They apparently ask Bryce about it last offseason

I hope that's what happens then

Hoffman and sir Anthony Dominguez close out the game.

I’m more in favor of keeping Bohm til the deadline when they bring up miller. Then use Bohm at the deadline to bring back either a BP or prospects. I think the smarter decision would be signing Alonso or Tucker then when miller is ready in June/July trade Bohm. That said bichette’s 2024 was awful it’s why Bohm’s numbers are better last two years. Bichette was good in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025. He was better all those years than Bohm in avg, OBP, slugging and ops and usually HRs too

Add on in 2025 bichette was significantly better before he got hurt was on pace for a career year besides his HR total. Defensively bichette played shortstop so hard to know if his defense would improve switching to third.

2021: .298/.343/.484/.828 29 HRs and 102 RBI

2022: .290/.333/.469/.802 24 HRs and 93 rbi

2023: .306/.339/.475/.814 20 hrs and 73 rbi (135 games)

2024: .225/.277/.322/.598 4 hrs and 31 rbi (81 games)

2025: .311/.357/.483/.840 18 HRs and 94 rbi (139 games)

Bohm since 2021:

2021: .247/.305/.342/.647 7 HRs and 47 rbi (115 games)

2022: .280/.315/.398/ .713 13 HR and 72 rbi

2023: .274/.327/.437/.765 20 HR 97 rbi

2024: .280/.322/.448/.779 15 hr and 97 rbi

2025: .287/.331/.409/.741 11 hrs and 59 rbi (120 games)

I’d also trade marsh now when he has 2 controllable years left and off a good year. Cash in when another team still believes they can fix his left handed pitching issue.

🤣

Dumbrowski said they aren't going to a 400 million payroll so I think this is out the window unless you mean letting Kyle walk?

I wish i saved the tweet but schwarber getting $10 mil more per so $30 mil but jt reducing from $23.1 to $13-15 (likely based off projections). So it comes close to balancing out what it was this year.

Would also have Castellanos gone (half as i think he’s tradeable if you eat half the salary and not take anything back), ranger’s arbitration is off ($8.8), Romano is off, Ross is off and Kepler is off ($24 mil). I also don’t think alavardo is coming back at $9 mil. Probably less than what he got this year due to suspension and injury. If you deal Bohm also his arbitration which was $7.7 mil. So with Castellanos at half that’s about $50.5 mil off their 307 mil payroll in 2025 (if you get schwarber at 4 years $120/5 for $150mil and jt somewhere between 12-15 mil per). I think they are probably willing to go higher to 325-330.

So they could spend and get one big move. Will they? I kind of question whether they will. I kind of think they actually are gonna trade for a bat and use the money on bullpen arms. Also have a couple guys who are in the minors who might also come up next year in terms of bullpen. Cade Obermueller and wood might be able to help contribute in the pen at some point next year.

I actually thought the Phillies show towards the end touched on their payroll of this year. With a looming lockout i wouldn’t be shocked if there’s some sort of cap implementation (can thank the dodgers) if you get the opportunity to buy out some contracts to become compliant

I thought Jim Salisbury made a good point, cause I was gonna mention this last night when the report came out that the tigers were like $250 million apart from skubal. The Phillies when they tried to get Garrett crochet, were willing to give up Aidan Miller and Justin Crawford. the Phillies don’t have a need for starting pitching, I wouldn’t completely rule out the fact that if they don’t believe Andrew painter is as good as they think he was gonna be that they would tie him Miller and even Crawford to go out and get a skubal. I think it would take all three of them. I do think the tigers would take that offer because it’s three top 60 prospects. Plus, he’s a free agent at the end of the year. Plus, whoever takes them unless they get a contract done prior is risking the fact that he could just walk at the end of the year. Plus, if you did have a contract done, you’re gonna have to pay him like $400 million. That said I don’t think it’s very likely at all

Obviously, it’s not very likely, but there is some sense that when Wheeler retires in 2027 you have that money opening up and his spot in the rotation. Luzardo, you might not be able to get a contract done. And if you’ve got skubal (no way it gets done without a contract in place) you could actually look to trade luzardo and bring back some prospects that you like. And how often does the best pitcher in the game become available. The Phillies anytime a big name pitcher becomes available seemingly are in those trade rumors. I don’t think they could get it done, but I wouldn’t be shocked if somehow they’re mentioned in those trade rumors.
