Dumping Nola would be better and keeping Ranger

Difference is Nola still has 5 years left on his contract casty only has 1. Dumping nola doesn't free up any money

If you mean just release him you are right. Trading him in a salary dump you could. However not sure there’s team out there that want to take on the last 5 years of that contract with what they saw in 2025. Maybe half of it but Phillies aren’t taking nothing for him and eating half of that salary. Add on due to service time he has a NTC

Ahh ok thanks for clearing that up. I knew it would be harder to dump him then cast at this point

Yay optimism

I made this argument I think like a week ago, the problem with casty is everybody knows you don’t want him on the team. He’s making $20 million. Maybe you can find a team that says well we want him enough that we’ll pay $3 million so he doesn’t have to go the free agent route and we have to compete with somebody. But I don’t think his market is so robust that that is realistic.

It’s why I kind of made the argument you’re already paying him $20 million. The better option with him would just be like we’re gonna platoon you with Brandon marsh. You could be the right handed bat to his left-handed bat. And you just do it for a couple months and if it doesn’t work out, you can cut them anyways. I don’t think it’s gonna hurt you. I really don’t think it’s gonna mess up the locker room. He was doing that crap last year. They still won 95 games.

I don’t remotely see this happening as I don’t think the front office wants him there anymore, but I can make the argument it is a better plan than just wasting $20 million to release him.

No contract talks yet

Feels less optimistic than yesterday where they were the favorite to IF they do something

What gets done first… eagles hire an OC or Bichette saga

Suarez to Red Sox

5 year $130M

Glad he went to the Sox vs NYM

Much rather be giving out that deal then what they gave to Nola even if higher AAV. Less years so if he’s good for 3 then you are out two years later

Crying cause i love Ranger and hate losing him but also happy for him to get paid not by the Mets
