January 16Jan 16 The ultimate what do you do here guySeriously, he hasn't done crap to improve the team since signing Turner.
January 17Jan 17 Hey, at least they are going to host the all-star game this year. Granted, they'll be 15 games back by then but maybe Schwarbs can win the homerun derby as a consolation prize for the fanbase. What a gd joke DD is and shame on Middleton for allowing his incompetence to continue to destroy his team.

Just had a hunch someone was going to step in and give him a competitive offer. They have a zoom on Monday then three other days before Tucker signed. If they badly wanted him as much as the national media was making it out to be then I think they would’ve went out of their way to make sure it got done and locked it up. They did not. all the sudden they wanted too and offered him what he "wanted all along”. I have a feeling that contract they offer him wasn’t exactly all he wanted. Feels like a Phillies leak and Bichette camp doesn’t care to respond cause it doesn’t matter at the end of the day. Obviously he wanted to opt out. But I have a feeling he wanted something closer to 225 to 250. the Phillies thought will nobody else is gonna give them this long of a contract with that type of so we don’t have to worry about that. So he will take it. they got screwed because the Mets got shafted with Tucker and just said F it.

They got screwed letting him leave dinner without a deal. They had to know Tucker was going to drop and it would impact things.
January 17Jan 17 Eff DD..... but more than that .... EFF MLB ! the glorious game that I long have had a passion about for more than 50 years is just an absolute train wreck for so many reasons. I hope there is a lockout after this season and I hope it drags on until the players and owners become irrelevant in societies eyes. I'm done....... enjoy the crap show that is MLB boys and girls.
January 17Jan 17 Now I think the only thing that makes a difference is ticket sales, the only thing that DD and Middleton care about is putting people in the seats. They don’t care about winning, this team just gets worse every year and we deserve better than this crap. You can’t sell out games this season, this organization flat out sucks

January 17Jan 17 I still want Bader. I understand running out of money and luxury tax implications. But, Crawford is unproven. We need one or two outfielders.Crawford AND Bader.Marsh returnsBader returns. (He doesn't cost that much)Crawford replaces Kepler.Adolis Garcia replaces Castellanos. And Otto Kemp?Too many question marks in that group. Is the OF Dombrowski's blind spot?

January 17Jan 17 They lost Ranger, added a bullpen arm, and an outfielder with a lower slugging % and OPS than Castellanos. Everyone else will be a year older. The lineup is going to be so, so bad next year.
January 17Jan 17 I wonder where Eugenio Suarez ends up. They were supposedly interested in him last July I think. Id much rather have him in the clean up spot than another year of Bohm or Realmuto 🤮.
January 18Jan 18 We need to drop Schwarber down to #3 in the lineup. And then Harper hits in the cleanup spot.It should be:1 Turner2 Bader (or whoever the hot bat is . . .Stott?)3 Schwarber4 HarperThe problem is the lack of great hitting/power in the OF.On Bader, I saw him hit leadoff with Turner out. Gave the team a spark. Then Turner comes back and we drop Bader to the 8 spot.Without Bader, the OF bats are totally insufficient. We need more bats out there. On Bohm and Realmuto, not bad hitters. They are what they are. 5 to 7 hole hitters.

Oh well.Probably not time to blow them up with all the dollars and years committed to this aging roster. Maybe we should have. I like to go look at all the contracts and see where they fall off. We are stuck with this for 3-4 years.Need to trade for another young starting pitcher to go with Sanchez and Luzardo.Always be buying talent at every opportunity: free agency, off season trades, every trade deadline. We need to keep/extend our trade acquisitions: Luzardo, Jhoan Duran, BaderWe need to find a way to compete like a bit of what the Dodgers are doing. We threw big money at the core of this team to win now. Just need to spend a bit more money and prospects right now.

Hoping stott can bat 1st or 2nd (which he’s just not nearly good enough) and hoping JT or bohm can bat 5th (both repeatedly proven they’re just not good enough there)
January 18Jan 18 Best move the Phillies made this offseason was signing 17 year old Francisco Renteria. He may or may not work out (most 17 year olds don't)...but that's where their money should be going. And to be brutally honest, that's their timeline. Invest in building the best farm system you can. Ours is consistently underwhelming. No need to overpay JT. And with how this offseason played out, honestly, that money is wasted on extending Schwarber. I'd have spent it on signing 5 of the top 10 international prospects instead.
January 18Jan 18 Bader is a career .247 hitter with a .714 OPS. His one month hot streak doesn't make him a #2 hole hitter

January 18Jan 18 If Miller starts the season hot, you call him up mid season and either trade Bohm or move him to 1B and have Harper play LF and trade Marsh
