It sounds like he wasn’t a problem prior to this year and then when this all went down, that’s when he became the problem. Now his production was always a problem because he was never as good as what they expected him to be.

Harper situation is interesting. I think it's as simple as age and injuries catching up to him to the point that he clearly is no longer elite. It's not a motivational or effort-based thing. But he's clearly fired up about this. And he's such a combustible personality that there's just no way this ends well.

I think it's going to start off really well. Harper is going to approach every at-bat in March and April like it's game 7 of the world series. I think we'll see him explode out of the gates with one of the hottest starts of his career and then his body will remind him that you can't maintain that intensity, at his age, over a marathon baseball season. So I expect a torrid March/April followed by a crater for the rest of the year.

In the last 4 years, Harper has missed 63, 26, 17, and 30 games. Now to be fair, some of these games missed are due to being hit by pitches but last year, he had that nagging wrist injury. Who's to say that still doesn't flare up again a month or two into the season? Would anyone be surprised if he missed 20+ games against this year? I wouldn't be.

Not really understanding why anyone would trade harper. 27 mil a year for his current production is fine even if he stays where he is. I think you see a slight uptick this year. Is he ever going to be MVP worthy again? Doubt it but you can do much worse in the middle of your order right now.

If anything Im getting rid of dombroski if the two can't coexist.

I just read an article that the two of them cleared the air and are fine now.... Then read about how harper isnt happy with the clean up behind him then see a quote from Thomson saying he is looking at bohm, realmuto or garcia 🤣🤣🤣

Let's hope so - could really use him this year with Wheeler being a question mark, losing Ranger, and having no damn clue which version of Nola we're going to get
