What is it with athletes leaving the bubble and going to strip clubs?

And especially Atlanta strip clubs.  Seems over half the reports of players between the MLB and NBA going to strip clubs that they went to Atlanta strip clubs.  Yeah, NBA is in Orlando, but that's still a pretty good drive to go to Atlanta.  What?  There aren't decent strip clubs in FLA?  Wouldn't Miami be closer?  I'm sure there's at least 1 good strip club in Miami.  Something very popular about Atlanta strip clubs among high roller types.  Funny, for being the bible belt area seems strip clubs in the south (Atlanta, Houston, etc.) are at the top of being the biggest, best and most glamourous in the country.

Texas is in the Bible Belt, but Houston is a huge cosmopolitan city.

Not baseball but someone correlated strip clubs with James Harden's stats in those cities. His stats are worse in cities with best clubs

Rumor is he's a frequent visitor to Houston's strip clubs.

I wouldn't know - just what I've heard!!!

Oh nevermind then.  I was pretty critical of him, but I totally understand possibly destroying the entire NBA season because I had a hankering for some 'ukn catfish nuggets covered in stripper sauce.

Probably should use more breast... meat.

I've been super worried about what the strippers are going to do to survive during Covid.

Joe Kelly for the Dodgers getting suspended 8 games is a joke. Protect the cheaters

He didn't even actually hit any of them - all this is gonna do is make the pitchers make damn sure they bean them good if they're gonna get that many games.

I actually think the opposite. You get suspended 8 games for not even beaning the pitcher which is 13 percent of the season lost and paycheck lost. I think players less likely to want to have a bigger suspension for actually beaning one of them and actually causing a all out brawl during a pandemic. It’s going to be a bigger suspension after they already set the baseline with this incident. You think players want to lose 13% of their paycheck during this pandemic? I’m kind of doubting that. I think they made it 8 to try and persuade guys from actually doing it and not causing a brawl which then puts more risk for players and could likely shut down Baseball if the marlins incident doesn’t already do that.

Kelly gets 8 more games than any player actually involved with the cheating program.  Unbelievable.

I think you'd be much less likely to see pitchers headhunting Astros players if they actually received a real punishment for what they did. Should players be hurling baseballs at 95 MPH towards a player's head? Probably not. But this is what you get when the penalties for cheating that resulted in a WS win are so incredibly weaksauce.

F the Marlins. That is all.

I still think there was going to be pitchers that went headhunting regardless of what outcome major-league baseball took against the Astros. Even if they suspended some those players when they came back they were going to be pitchers who are mad and throw at them. There is no way around that as players felt cheated.

The only thing they could’ve done possibly would be take away a World Series. But they’re not gonna do that because then they would have to do the same thing with the Red Sox who also got caught the following year (not to the same extent) but they were caught cheating too. add on the Yankees were in court trying to get stuff suppressed where they didn’t have to released to the Info to the public that very likely would’ve confirmed that they were also cheating (https://www.houstonchronicle.com/texas-sports-nation/astros/article/MLB-Yankees-ask-court-to-stop-release-of-15341158.php)

again the Astros should’ve been punished more severely. However I think this is a major league baseball issue going on and I think Manfred/Mlb is covering up for the fact there’s a lot more cheating going on that people really wanna admit to.

That's exactly right.  Same thing with the NHL, back when it wasn't so soft.  Refs don't call the penalties they should, games tend to get out of hand.

Yep. And it's exactly why you had guys like McSorley, Domi, Probert, etc. occupying roster spots for so many years. Want to take a cheap shot at one of our guys? Fine, but be prepared to deal with these guys. Right or wrong, the game will always police itself.

I should have stayed here and not argued with the window licker in the blog.  I was hoping they'd be incredibly easy on any opposing pitcher of the Astros, but I guess they are anticipating this will continue to happen all season.  Good.  I hope it does, because they received almost no punishment.

I can absolutely see why MLB doesn't want any vigilante justice going on. I mean, the potential is that someone gets killed or turned into a vegetable with a fasball to the head. I just feel like the problem is self inflicted due to the horribly weak punishment that the Astros team/players received as a whole. I agree with you that pitchers probably would've been throwing at them regardless of the punishments for cheating, but I really do feel like MLB dumped a drum of gasoline on the fire by not holding any of the players accountable.

Uh-oh. That's not good.

Agreed on them not wanting vigilante justice for what you said and in a pandemic a brawl is one of the worst thing you could have. Like I said above I think manfred gave out the eight game suspension to deter pitchers from doing that as they’ll lose 8 games of paychecks. In a normal season of 162 games I don’t think that’s that big of a deterrent but in 60 games it’s more of an issue for players. Frankly they should’ve also fined or suspended Correa for running his mouth which escalated it

Oh Mlb definitely did but that’s manfred in general. I can say he’s the worst commissioner in sports. He some how passed Gary bettman. He’s clueless. So I’m not surprised he dropped the ball. You’ve seen this marlins incident he’s done it again by allowing the marlins to even play on Sunday when they knew they had 4 test positive.

that said i’ve said this for a while, I think there’s more than just the Astros Red Sox and Yankees cheating. I think it’s been going on for a while and I think those teams were just arrogant enough to get caught.

How bad do you have to be to out-suck Gary Bettman and Bud Selig? Somehow, Manfred has managed to accomplish both. This guy is the definition of a lame a** commissioner and the owners would be wise to punt him out the door.

I loved his statement when he trashed Mike Trout not being a bigger media sensation even though Mike Trout should be the face of baseball. baseball does an incredibly horrible job at promoting it stars. Besides Bryce harper that’s the only star that they properly promoted in the last like 10 years

the Marlins might actually have saved klentak’s job cause now he has an excuse of how the season was crazy and it’s why the results were what they were.

So let me get this straight: A Phillies coach and clubhouse attendant test positive, so CBP is closed until further notice. Ok. But no players have tested positive, so they can still play right? Just not in Philly? Cool, this weekend's games are away at the Blue Jays....  Except they can't play in Toronto, the stadium in Buffalo isn't MLB-ready yet, so they're supposed to play this weekend in Philly instead.

Baseball during the pandemic is going well... What a cluster.
