August 4, 20205 yr Yikes. Starting to wonder what pieces they actually have in place for the next 2 years (and then beyond) despite their hefty payroll. RF...check. LF...no one CF...Hasely...not exactly going to be a stud. C...no one if Realmuto walks. 1B...Probably looking at Bohm here. 2B...Kingery gets through 2022 to prove himself. SS...Didi not under contract in 2021, probably re-signable. He's a 1-3 year solution, max. 3B...Probably getting another 2 years of Segura. Nola/Wheeler/Howard are not likely to be aces, but are good pitchers. 3 good starters with no 4/5 and no pen do not result in a strong team on the mound. Even under the assumption that guys like Kingery, Bohm, Hasely, and Howard maximize their potential (huge assumption), they'd still have to buy big talent at multiple positions to have a high end roster. And if they hit only half of those 4, which is fairly optimistic, then they really have lots of holes.
August 4, 20205 yr There is no plan in place. There has never been a plan, outside of loading up on bullpen arms. At least that made theoretical sense. It just didn’t work out. Signing Arrieta and McCutcheon was brain dead. Drafting a prospect 1.1 who had a 0 power grade was even worse.
August 4, 20205 yr I thought Arietta pitched well tonight, that stadium is a joke, those home runs should have been outs
August 4, 20205 yr I like to see Galvis and Hernandez in good lineups. Those guys seem to be professionals.

Galvis is an okay starter on a bad team, like he was a here, a bench player, battling for a spot on a good team. Caesar is a good starter for a team coming to an end of a rebuild, that could get a spot on good team on the bench and not worry about his spot.

August 5, 20205 yr Why is haseley not playing everyday right now? Kid is hitting while Quinn and mccutchen aren’t.

August 5, 20205 yr Live look at the phillies bullpen lucky this was only a 7 inning game. 4 runs with this pen feels like it could have turn into a L
